New rule: Pawnshops can no longer sell under the counter.

A big reason to a shortage is the fact that factions essentially have a monopoly on these items via carjacking. The script and rule's basically prevents most players from earning any sort of metal parts outside a faction. This is a fairly common gameplay loop. Jack cars, convert car parts into metal parts, convert them into weapons/lockpicks, mark them up in pawnshops. 

 

 

I hope this will be fixed soon.

 

p.s carjacking got buffed but it's not enough for non faction players

Just curious, where DO switchblades and other knives come from? Like where is the supply? Why are pawnshops the only place to find them?

Not totally correct, switchblades can be made from car parts too. So they come from IFM chopshop factions. you should know this PHIXION
