The Westside Laguna Park Gangsters

The Westside Laguna Park Gangsters 13, also known as the W/S LPG 13, or Parkside Gangsters are a predominantly Mexican-American street gang. Their territory stretches from Alta Street to Las Lagunas Boulevard and Las Lagunas Place in which they consider being the heart of their set. The Westside Laguna Park Gangsters 13 has earned a violent reputation throughout the 1980's due to a rise in the younger members from that area whom would cause havoc and all around being lose cannons to those that didn't originate from the area. The street gang shows loyalty to the Mexican Mafia with the 13 being behind their name. 

HISTORY

The gang was originally formed in 1963 and originally went by the name Laguna Loco's who were led by Oscar "Scrappy" Campos and Victor "Looney" Campos alongside a few homeboys and homegirls they grew up with but quickly found themselves under constant pressure by other local street gangs in the area, the gang in their former years were known for jumping in teens of any race in an attempt to mass recruit more members to try and outnumber the constant threats around them that were constantly jumping and robbing them.

 

By the early 70s the gangs name and structure had changed and they were now going by Laguna Locos to Laguna Park 13, getting their name from a small park located in the heart of their hood with two cliques under them, Parkside Gangsters and Mainline Lowkeraz and in more recent years, the Parkside Boyz clique. The gang were moving more militant by this point and everyone in their turf unaffiliated with them found themselves constantly being pressed and occasionally robbed, beaten and sometimes killed. 

 

Their hostile nature gained the group a vicious reputation and left them in constant back and forth with the 18th street clique who's turf bordered theirs, the war got so bad by the late 70s/early 80s that members would often hang out in neighboring parts of North East Los Santos, eventually resulting several other cliques popping, namely Avenue Bullies, Mainline Asesinaz and the now defunct Northside Locos clique who had the misfortune of being locked in between two rival turfs, Frogtown Rifa and Echo Park 13, that ultimately killed off the majority of their members by 1985 and the remaining few that survived were smart enough to start hanging out with cliques with more numbers.

ALLIES & RIVALS

The gangs beef with 18st had died out by the mid to late 80s but by this time they picked up numerous other beefs, namely the Playboy Gangster Crips, the Marvin Gangster Crips, the West Boulevard Crips as well as multiple other Crip gangs around them, their deadly beefs with Frogtown and Echo Park were still very much alive too, mainly frontlined by the gangs N/E cliques. 

 

They've maintained a long time alliance however with the Rebels 13 gang and Avenues 13 until the present day.

 

 

2018

In June of 2018, more than 70 LPG members were picked up in a sweeping RICO case in which over 70 handguns and 20 automatic firearms were recovered and 72 out of the 76 people arrested were charged with charges varying from murder, armed robberies and drug trafficking charges.

 

The arrests hit the gang hard and left a lot of its younger members without any structure as crime in Laguna Place would start to stagger and inner-conflicts would rise with the Eastside set until the new shot caller of the Vinewood set, Andres "Kriminal" Hurtado called for a gang meeting between it's Eastside leaders and solved it with a community event in which he'd have the members from both sides fight it out one on one at the basketball court, making them lock in the set after.

 

That in itself showed the two gangs that they can keep peace and show respect to each other while still fighting off their differences in fair fists fights if they needed to. Since then the gang has been moving more smarter and militant.
