  1. Basic information & History The West Side (W/S) Rollin 40s Neighborhood Crips are an active and long standing African American street gang founded in West Los Santos, San Andreas during the 1970s. Their territory covers a large area from Grove St. in the west to Covenant Ave. in the east, between Carson Ave. in the north towards 52nd Street in the south; an area which falls under the jurisdiction of the LSPD's Southwest Division. The 40's fall under the Neighborhood card and are friendly towards most Deuce (2x) gangs. The 40's are an active street gang with a reputation for brutality, bolstering about 1000 members as of 2005. Members of the 40s are known to wear baby blue and Florida Marlins or Milwaukee Brewers apparel to represent their gang. They are organized into four loosely affiliated cliques that control their particular neighborhood area. These cliques are Darcside Crip, Parcside Crip, Western Side, and Avenue Crips. The gang as a whole is known to be extremely ruthless and will check any unknowns, even civilians, when in their set if caught wearing the wrong team hats, or laces. Even having the wrong demeanor will get you pressed. Rivalries & Allies Throughout their existence, Rollin 40s are known to beef with a multitude of different sets from the land, including the Rollin 20s Neighborhood Bloods, Inglewood Family Gang, Centinela Park Family Bloods, Fruit Town Brims, Van Ness Gangster Brims, Harvard Park Brims, 43 Hoover Criminals Gang, 59 Hoover Criminals Gang, 52 Broadway Gangster Crips, the Playboy Gangster Crips, School Yard Crips, the 51 Trouble Gangster Crips, , the Rollin 40s Avalon Gangster Crips and the Gardena Shotgun Crips. They're known to beef heavily with Black P. Stones, and 52 (Five Deuce) Hoover Gangster Crips. The Rollin 40s are allies of all the Neighborhood Crips and the Raymond Avenue Crips, as well as the Rollin 30s Harlem Crips. More recently, a beef between the 40s and 60s has reignited where there has been blood spilled and there's no sign of it slowing down any time soon. Rollin 40s vs Rollin 60s Timeline - In Aug 4. 2013, plenty of NHC members (40s, 60s, 90s, 100s etc) were in a party in Westmont in the Rollin 100s hood. "Ev" a very REPUTABLE member of the Darcside clique from the Rollin 40s had a fight with a Rollin 60 member over a FEMALE, Ev beat the guy from 60s in a fist fight (there was a big fight / brawl between the whole 40s & 60s but the major one was that one) The guy from 60s came back to the party with a gun and shot Ev several times killing him and he also shot another guy from 40s but he didn't die. - The whole August was retaliation and killing in the Hyde Park area (Rollin 60s hood). The next day 5. August 2013, They shot & killed a 18 year old in the Hyde Park area, I don't know if he was gang banging but most people that commented said that he literally had nothing to do with gang banging and there was whole articles about him etc... The next day (6. August 2013) they shot & killed a 54 year old the same way they killed the 18 year old, they just walked up to him & shot at him & killed him. - Rollin 60s retaliated back I guess by killing another Rollin 40 named T.C I think (I don't know the date) The whole August was shootings in Vermont Square Park & Hyde Park areas, and many people shot at. There was also MANY innocents dead (can't mention them all) - On August 27. Rollin 40s members got the drop on two Rollin 60s members aged of 18 & 16 years old, the two Rollin 60s spotted them & shot at them first but the Rollin 40s laid off 20 shots at them killing both of them. The killings between them stopped. - On May 21st 2022, Lady 40S from Rollin 40s was allegedly killed by a member of the Rollin 60s, which has since reignited the beef between the two groups. Seventy-Four Members of Rollin’ 40’s Crips Violent Street Gang Charged with Federal and State Narcotics Violations in Operation “40 Ounces to Freedom” FBI Los Santos October 21, 2009 Public Affairs Specialist Laura Eimiller More than 1,000 police officers and federal agents executed dozens of arrest and search warrants this morning in a coordinated operation in which members of a violent street gang were taken into custody for their alleged roles in the widespread distribution of narcotics. The results of today’s operation were announced by George S. Cardona, Acting United States Attorney in Los Santos; William Bratton, Chief of the Los Santos Police Department; Keith Bolcar, Acting Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI in Los Santos; and Carmen Trutanich, City Attorney in Los Santos. The announcement of the law enforcement operation called “40 Ounces to Freedom” was made on behalf of multiple agencies that participated in the investigation to assist the FBI/LSPD task force. Seventy-four members of the gang known as the “Rollin’ 40s Neighborhood Crips” were charged in 23 federal indictments and 45 state warrants for their alleged roles in a narcotics trafficking conspiracy that operated within a three-square-mile area of Los Santos. The federal indictments that were unsealed this morning charge 29 gang members with crimes that include conspiracy, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine base (“crack”) and methamphetamine, and firearms violations. Forty-five additional members of the gang are named in state charges filed in Los Santos Superior Court for their roles in the illegal drug distribution operation. Many of the defendants at the federal and state level were arrested this morning; however several defendants were already in custody on both related and unrelated charges. Several subjects of this operation are still being sought by law enforcement, including six federal defendants and 20 state defendants. The FBI/LSPD task force initiated an investigation in 2008 to address gang-related crime and persistent violence fueled by narcotics trafficking being reported in the city of Los Santos. Using statistics, including offenses reported to the police, and further analysis, the task force identified the Rollin’ 40s Neighborhood Crips territory as among the most violent in the city, and focused on the “shotcallers” who control the criminal activity in the area. The Rollin' 40's Neighborhood Crips is a violent Crips gang that operates primarily in a three-square-mile area of South Los Santos, an area which falls under the jurisdiction of the LSPD's Southwest Division. The Rollin' 40s have established strong ties to other gangs under the "Neighborhood Crips" umbrella, as well as other Crips gangs in the local neighborhood. The Los Santos Police Department has identified this gang as one of the 10 most violent gangs in the city of Los Santos. The Rollin' 40s are organized into four loosely affiliated cliques that control their particular neighborhood area. Its members are known to be involved in a variety of crimes, including murder, assault, robberies, narcotics and firearms violations. Each clique is controlled by a shotcaller who determines the overall strategy relative to the criminal activity within the clique. Prior to the charges announced today, this investigation resulted in 51 felony arrests and 35 misdemeanor arrests, separate from those individuals sought today, including members of the Rollin’ 40s gang and members of other gangs. Among those arrested were active parolees and felony probationers. In addition to substantial quantities of narcotics, task force members seized several handguns, rifles and a large amount of cash during this investigation. During today’s operation, narcotics were seized, as well as approximately 10 weapons. The Los Santos County City Attorney’s Office has brought parallel civil actions as part of this investigation, including five nuisance abatement lawsuits against six separate properties being used by gang members to conduct criminal activity, including drug transactions and illegal weapon storage. For each abatement, the City Attorney’s office will seek an injunction against the owner ordering various improvements, orders to stay away from gang members named as defendants in the lawsuits, civil penalties and additional fees. In addition to the five lawsuits, the City Attorney’s Office is notifying property owners that, by law, tenants conducting illegal drug activity must be evicted. A permanent injunction was filed against the gang in 2008. Based on federal sentencing laws, the mandatory minimum sentence each federal defendant faces is five years in prison. Eleven of the federal defendants face mandatory minimum sentences of 10 years in prison. If convicted of the charges, several federal defendants face between 20 years to life in prison. Federal defendants arrested today will make an initial appearance in U.S. District Court in Los Santos this afternoon. This case was investigated by agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and detectives with the Los Santos Police Department, in coordination with the Los Santos City Attorney’s Office. Multiple agencies participated in today’s operation, including the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Department of Transportation, the San Andreas Highway Patrol, the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Los Santos City Fire Department - EMS Services, the Los Santos County Probation Department, and the Los Santos County Department of Child and Family Services. The federal defendants will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office in Los Santos. The District Attorney in Los Santos will prosecute defendants charged by the state. The FBI/LSPD Task Force is one of many FBI Safe Streets Task Forces throughout the United States, funded for the purpose of assisting local police in identifying and addressing violent crime in America.
