Good news. Roleplaying in the female jail pod requires absolutely no connection to a faction on the outside!

Going on your own and not linked to a faction is hard for anyone, especially when there is a stigma against women in the server. Most people won't take women seriously, and like it was mentioned before, they tend to get let off easier because most cops are simps. I, myself, have managed to talk myself out of almost EVERY ticket I could have gotten. There was once out of a wide variety of times I got a ticket. And thats just for argument sake of being let off easy.

I mean, it's a question to ask faction leaders themselves but any woman I've spoken to has had the same experience in anything but roleplaying in South Central and K-Town. Sure, some Asian factions allow women to be front lines but they get clowned for it and it's naïve to think they don't. I'm gonna stand by my statement unless I can be proven wrong, majority of female crime characters are background characters and aren't involved to the same level of their male counterparts. Factions would rather use them for legal work or small crime nor will they take them seriously beyond an associate level. My point also still stands about female characters not being trusted which sure, partially I agree with. It's men behind female characters roleplaying them as caricatures, stereotypes, and sex dolls that ruin it for everyone else because they're the most noticed on the server. I'm sure any member of an OCG faction would tell you that they would prefer women to be background characters or not involved at all, either privately or public.

Exactly my point. Portrayal of the women on the server has become garbage and part of it is the fact they aren't involved in the same way as the men, which then leads to "why the fuck do we bother" mentality so they become basically nothing in the eyes of the servers.

Edit: By keeping them in the background and basically sex dolls and shit, of course the jail is gonna be quiet and lack activity.

What I meant was that triads in real life only induct males. Official triad members are all males. There are plenty of female associates, though

I didn't mean make female dominated ocgs or have female hitman wings. What I was referring to was the groups where guns are taken from female characters simply because they are female and where they're basically disregarded ic and ooc bc they rp female. I simply don't see why anybody would stick around for that.

This is my point, because there have been tons of times I have been rping with a group and I feel like a ghost in the background because I am an IC and OOC woman. There's this thought where one feels they are being judged that we can't do the same RP simply because we are a female. We don't need ALL WOMEN gangs and shit, fuck that, that's just gonna go bad and bring garbage RP because of the way some people on this server portray women (which I do find disgusting sometimes). But I agree that like.. there needs to be more opportunities to be involved.

Edit: ONCE  there is some openness and more opportunities for females to be involved, I forsee some more activity being in the female jail pods.

The issue here is that for one, a lot of the people here do have that mindset that women and crime don't mix for some reason. I've seen some incredibly dumb shit, even in street gangs, where women have by FAR the most freedom to be involved in illegal activty. These people think that's realistic and will cry "portrayal" whenever a woman looks as if she has a chance at authority over them in game.

This ties to the second point, in where most of the criminal organizations portrayed on this server are sexist,  male dominated societies. There's a few exceptions, but by and large the criminals people portray here (LCNs, bikers, russian/european mobsters, triads, white supremacist rp, etc) only accept male "inducted" memebrs. This doesn't mean women are not involved whatosever, but the GTAW playerbase tends to just shrug that off. Imo some leeway should be given so people roleplaying criminal female characters get a chance to actually have some fun every now and then.

This is exactly what I mean. You got my points. Because like, I have seen some really dumb shit but both genders and it can't be strictly limited to one, but most of the time the scurtiny will come into play if its a female that is doing the dumb shit. But the mindset does exist wide spread that crime and women don't mix, like you said, which is absolutely not correct. There are plenty of IRL women who are worse than men, lets be real about it. If a woman has some kind of authority it has to be earned like everyone else in the group, not handed off and if it is earned then its reasonable, but I get what you're saying, some people don't think this is right.

I have found that when it comes to the male dominated group that does allow female interaction, such as MC's they are still very /sexist/ in the portrayal. They are only good to be either passed around, a fuck or to bartend their bars. They don't include them in /anything/ which I do get. But there is a stigma and attitude that is played around the women that they are basically /garbage/ in their eyes.

I agree there needs to be some leeway and openness to allow the female population to be involved but none of this garbage rp I have seen in the past. I've seen some female rpers work their ass off to get some status and still get shoved aside and treated like garbage because they are simply a female even if they worked hard to get there.

I don't think the argument is that women are physically unable to commit crime, it's just that most criminal organizations are male dominated. That said, I've heard many horror stories of how in a few gang factions, female characters were treated like background support characters with far too much disrespect for it to be fun or realistic.

As a female rper,  illegal rp is so focused on "if you got a dick, you can do it, but you a female you ain't nothing". It's very very hard to get into illegal rp because most people on this server rp sexist characters who only want a woman to fuck and distract themselves when they are fully capable of doing the illegal side of things. Even with going solo, or finding my own routes to rp with, it took over a year irl to get any kind of rp route for my girl.

Because of the way the groups have always been portrayed in the server, this leaves players to rp females in such insane ways I'm sometimes rather disgusted by the rp. This doesn't help with the stigma of allowing females into their illegal rp schemes.

It's a two sided coin really. If you wanna be in illegal rp as a female, you gotta be realistic, but there is also a microscope that seems to scrutinize the female population. I've seen scenes if a female does it, it's wrong but a male can be less realistic than her and it's okay.

As for the prison, the discord thing would help a ton, give an insight of structure and what not.

I think a huge part of why the pod is so empty is because one: like it was said, lots of women get let off easily, because women.. two: the lack of ability for women to get involved in the illegal side of the factions unless they go on their own. So some kind of openness and what not ti the structures is kind of needed because we are in 2022.. not 19-whatever when women were only good for a fuck.

This is another big issue, finding staff. Most wouldn't wanna do chef/cook RP since its just an RP involving yourself mostly behind the kitchen doors. IMO people working in these areas should get some kind of incentive (higher pay maybe) but then that's totally up to the owner I guess.

While i agree with most of your points, there's a few I disagree with. Yes its true that its even harder to run a restaurant/niche business with shortage of staff along with r/l stuff and time-zones, however its not a showstopper. I have worked in fast food joints in one on my character and yes while it seemed hard to get more employees, its not that the business was not running at all. The number of people coming were few (which is good) so you don't really need an army of staff (this was 3 years ago though lol). Also we're talking about small scale diners/joints which can be run by the owners themselves and a couple of servers (even only one server can do), but then again its VERY hard to find them even lol.

Don't get me wrong but if you open such a niche business, the owner has to show some interest in the business as well by working behind the scenes and not just rely on someone else to do the hard work for them and they just sit and collect the money. (Trust me I have come across several owners like these).

We tried to run a diner with 3 people and it was not enough, and got busy stupid fast. So in my opinion three is not enough for this kind of rp especially when you need to work around timezones and real life commitments like families, children, work etc. Which can be a show stopper, actually especially if there are new born or young children involved in the rl commitments. There is always a hope that one would have the advantage of others interested to assist and work as its part of the community activity. Of course some real life commitments come out of the blue and are unexpected

My argument is the fact diners as example rrquire more focus and more rp. It's not take an order and youre done, there's some discussion, communication. Think of any real life diner or restaurant. If there's one server and the place is busy ? It's not fun and stressful especially when rp takes more time then talking irl

  8. Yeah I'm just gonna add running a diner is much harder than a bar. Considering it focuses on the rp. People expect a fast food or bar service and get pissed when people are too busy with previous rp trying to portray a proper diner experience. It's not as simple as putting a blip down and done. Think of any restaurant you ever go to. Then put it in rp format. Yeah it's lengthy and shit. It's also not that business owners don't want to open it's that some places are NOT one man shows and require tons of employees. Now factor in timezones. If you have enough workers for a shift , will it even work if you all can't get on at the same time?? Real life comes first and the fact it's simply being boiled down to "people don't care" or "they don't want community" this is a down right lie. Everyone who gets a business have intentions to help with community activity. You need to consider the other issues or background troubles they may be having especially if it's a business that requires multiple people to run it

Also more simple ways to enter the county, really. I remember a specific case, that is... a waste and somewhat heart breaking in more ways than one. :x

A character (friend of my own) spent about 2 months preparing to move out to the county. The only reason why that character lived in the city was because there was 0 housing available in Harmony/Sandy, but that girl belonged there all along, from the beginning. Problem is: when she applied for a house there, she was told she needed to be active in Blaine County (like work there and such). So, she spent those 2 months getting support IC'ly from people all across, to rekindle some life into a business (a diner) that hadn't opened in forever. After 2 months of RP around Sandy and around preparing to open said diner... lease was denied. She couldn't get a house in the county because she didn't work there, and also she couldn't get a business in the county because she didn't live there.

The diner was given to someone from the county. Oh also, fun fact, it never opened a single time since it was given in February. Not once. Zero. Amazing pick really. 😕

Now of course there's the usual "well get an RV" and other such stuff... but honestly, why would someone with an apartment in the city buy an RV to live on a parking lot? "Just go and RP with people from the county!", well yeah, she did for 2 months but it wasn't enough, it seems. And... that here is a big part of the problem.

Admins and PM cannot know what a character's been RP'ing. It makes sense, there's 700 people online in the evening, nobody is asking them to be omniscient ^^' However, having criteria that are less set in stone, when it comes to county housing/business requests, could be nice. Because the consequence of that rigidity is that we HAVE PEOPLE WILLING TO OPEN BUSINESSES THERE and RP there. But they're denied. And then we have people complaining that there aren't open businesses in the county :x

TL;DR: There is no simple way to move a character from the city to the county, if somehow as a new player you ever bought an apartment in the city you're stuck there - unless you're ready to live the RV life (as if it was a sort of trophy of good RP for your char to live in an RV or something), possibly for months upon months upon months, you won't be able to move out of LS. There is this weird mentality that to be "worth" RP'ing in the county you need to suffer through dumb shit, which is a little odd - and may partially explain the ebb and flow of RP there.

One argument I have to place on a diner is I put up posters in cim format around town trying to hire people because it's not a two person job running a diner. Also irl stuff and time zones has contributed to the inability to make schedules work for everyone involved. It's the same with the bars, only one or two people seem to be willing to work these and even when you hire people some you never seen again so it demotivates owners to open these businesses as we do want to get locals and others involved.

    Just my two cents

First of all, thank you everyone dedicating their time to explain what's wrong with the county community, I can see that there are a few of ideas that are common with most of y'all. I'd love to start a community in the county, to have a fresh start, including both illegal and legal roleplay, to create this lovely small town experience for everyone coming to the county side. I'm mostly referring to Sandy Shores, that's where I like it more, compared to Paleto.

Speaking about businesses, what it's open in the Sandy Shores area, it's our duty to expand that. If we want to create a community, first we have to gather a couple who are dedicated to this, then we can move forward to create businesses that will increase the economy - small factories, maybe, some jobs that are not exclusively about bars and 24/7s.

This would be nice if we had the space and locations to make other businesses. We are limited on what's available too.

As for county rp, it doesn't help when there's people almost consistently being robbed out there. Makes it no fun. My friends character got robbed 3 times in a week in county.

I got kicked out of the discord a long time ago because I was a sandy rper and I never once wrote shit that was toxic. I never bothered going back because that pissed me off.
