You're talking like this is a matter of illegal faction leaders only and those who lead factions are the only ones with the right to vote for this suggestion. Excuse my youngster comment, big dog who's elite enough to be in the faction leaders' discord

Regarding roleplay it's definitely better when no one knows the other OOCly, things become more interesting and enjoyable when they happen naturally IC. But, it's a videogame and having friends is what makes you play a certain videogame, at the end of the day you're gonna interact with people OOC'ly no matter how hard you try, human beings were found to co-exist and that's just how it goes. I don't really think whether you know the person you're roleplaying with or not should affect the way you two roleplay, it all depends on the personalities of the two and how strict of roleplayers they are, I do respect those who keep it IC even with those they know OOCly because that type of roleplayers is becoming rare as time passes.
