In the past weeks, a show of force towards the community of Little Seoul was shown by the Los Santos Sheriff's Department, specifically their Gang Unit. Countless attacks on innocence, as well as established Asian-owned businesses, have been occurring in Little Seoul. And all in the name of American Justice towards the criminal underbelly of Los Santos. In the first edition of The Cold Hard Truth, we look at three previous attacks on the Little Seoul community, in which were staged by the Los Santos Sheriff Department.

The Attack of the Community Center

Beginning Mid-day on March 3rd, a woman by the name of Sophie Wu, established community member and spokesperson for the community of Little Seoul, began an event for the people of Little Seoul to eat, drink, and know one another. Unfortunately, what soon to be followed was a scene that was the utmost undignified for the Sheriff's Department. Several units, including that of a Mobile Headquarters Vehicle, blew through Little Seoul, stationing themselves less than a mile from the Community Center event. Many of the citizens grew weary of the presence of Deputies, but it wasn't until helicopters and snipers across the roofs of surrounding buildings were seen, that the people grew restless. Mrs. Wu, alongside her husband and countless others, calmed the storm that was the crowd they had established, while the Sheriff's Deputies were making a siege on the parking lot in which the event was being held in.

For countless hours, the Deputies and the crowd exchanged with one another, whether it be verbally or physically. It wasn't until a quarter of the lot, as well as the walkway above it, was cleared that those tensions grew, especially on the Deputies half. Once the invaders took hold of the entirety of the lot, which involved a mysterious gunman that let out a single shot behind the establishment, was when they began to become hostile, waving firearms in people's faces and threatening to either subdue or arrest any that were unwilling to cooperate. Mrs. Wu, and a few others, corralled the group into the Community Center, in which they barricaded themselves from the same people who swore to protect and serve them. It wasn't until a few minutes later that the Sheriff's Department left the scene, leaving the crowd bewildered and disappointed at the poor attempt of "scare-tactics" that were shown by the Sheriff's Department. The Siege of Tanuki's

One night, inside Tanuki Massage & Spa, a quartet of Spanish men walked into the business, flailing knives and other weaponry, in show of force but for no actual cause. It wasn't until they left, that shots began to ring out, causing a disturbance in Little Tokyo. So much that within minutes, the Los Santos Sheriff's Department came in full force, armed to the teeth. Instead of motioning civilians away from the area calmly and peacefully, each person that vacated the area was met with hostility, ranging from a beanbag shotgun up close and personal, to several Deputies holding aim with their secondary firearms. The owner of the establishment at the time, was one of these people that were assaulted by the Sheriff's Department. Citizens on the sidelines exclaimed that the shooters were long gone, in which they were correct. But due to the negligence of the Sheriff's Department and their trust with the community at the time, they continued to breach Tanuki, in which they found nothing that incited any sort of violence inside the business. In one instance, one of the people inside went into a PTSD-fueled panic, which involved themselves barricading inside the building. With the situation going on, the Deputies continued to pester both the civilians outside as well as the person inside with empty threats and behavior in which the Sheriff's Department should not condone themselves in. As for the outcome, I believed that everything was sorted peacefully in the end, though the price being the gunmen getting away and the business being raided ultimately for no reason.

The Lockdown of Cell Dwellers

Finally, we finish with a more recent story. Cell Dwellers, a known underground club in the Little Seoul area, was open for business. Thriving, it attracted many inside as well as outside the community. But as the night was going good, shots were fired shortly after the opening, involving one male that was presumed dead at the door of the club. With the music being too loud inside of the club, no one batted an eye besides the people that were closer to the exit, in which they left before anything serious occurred. With that being the case, and many of the partiers continuing to stick around, it wasn't long until the party was shut down by the Sheriff's Department, as well as the Los Santos Police Department Metropolitain Division. Rifles drawn, the Deputies and Officers in the area made sure that no one came in or out of at least the area of which the shooting occurred. That did mean the excavating of Cell Dwellers, shown in force and rude behaviors coming from the Deputies. The Officers of the Metropolitain Division were straight to the point, careful with their work as the Deputies grew tiresome on the sidelines for a change, much so, that one Deputy began to make derogatory gestures towards Mrs. Sophie Wu's restaurant and cooking, stating to another Deputy, that the meat Mrs. Wu uses is not of Pork. Many bigots believe that Chinese people cook animals such as dogs and cats and put them in their food, which could be what fueled the Deputy's statement.. I questioned the Deputy on these comments, in which he began to make up the fact that the food is disgusting, though never having been to Mrs. Wu's restaraunt. Regardless, the area was eventually evacuated of any Deputies or Officers, but the damage was already done. The owner of Cell Dwellers commented to one of the Officers that they should be held responsible for sales that were diminished by their actions. 

 

Regardless, these specific attacks show the true core of which the Sheriff's Department runs off of. Prejudice, Fascism, and Bigotry. The three main factors of Operation Safe Streets. To the civilians of Little Seoul, I urge you to move in groups around the neighborhood. Make sure that you are not around known criminals or those who are deemed criminals by the Sheriff's Department. If stopped by Deputies, please record through your phone, cameras, etc. Do your worth to protect your community from the people who were supposed to protect us to begin with.

 

As for the Sheriff's Department, without being crude, I wish that this experiment enlightens your higher-ups to rethink and strategize better. These attacks on businesses owned by Asian-American citizens of Los Santos are a big middle finger to those you wish to protect as far as the community of Little Seoul goes for. You wish to protect us, yet you shove guns in our faces and push us around. You arrest innocent people yet claim it to be under the banner of the Sheriff's Department and the fight on crime.

 

When will it stop?
