Jolagh
Brush Fire in Little Seoul By Troy Francis _____________ At approximately 8pm the Fire Department was called to Little Seoul where a brush fire was raging in the local park, resulting in some dramatic images, but thankfully little damage. On scene to deal with the fire were Truck Seven, Engine Seven and Rescue 71. Thankfully there were no injuries to citizens or firefighters alike, with the scene being managed initially by the Police Department, followed by the State Fire Marshal’s. Speaking to the Fire Department’s Press Officer, she confirmed that wildfire season is now becoming more lengthy, especially on the west coast of America where she confirms in the last couple of years the season has typically happened through the year, given the weather i.e. lack of rain and warm winds, combined with sparks can cause fires such as the one witnessed in Little Seoul. However, the vast majority of fires continue to be caused by humans, particularly those in the forest and small brush fires. Whether it be discarded cigarettes, campfires or disposable barbecues, all of these pose a danger and show that it doesn’t take much for a fire to ignite. This rounds up an extremely busy time for the department and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. In the last week alone, calls have increased by 75% compared to the previous week, with a massive surge in gunshot wounds responded too. In addition to this, the number of fires in the last week skyrocketed, with nineteen reported compared to the previous week of five. The Fire Department confirmed that it was a challenging and busy time, however one that they will continue to meet as they proudly serve the people of San Andreas.
