How to set up Custom Activity Streams

Hi! I use filters a lot for work and have wondered how I can make it easier to look through/filter through new activity on the forum since there's a lot that gets posted. I was able to set up a custom activity stream and I wanted to share how you can do that too, if you haven’t already!

This lets you select the forums that you want to see updates for, exclude reactions, adjust your date range, and more. These are especially helpful if you’re looking to only filter for general discussions, off-topic, or faction posts.

The best part is that you can create multiple different custom activity streams and set one as your default activity stream. That makes your custom activity stream a button that you can click on from any page on the forum. No need to scroll through endless reactions & irrelevant posts to see what you want to see!

Here’s how you do it!

Hover over “All Activity”, click on “My Activity Streams”, and “Create New Stream” at the bottom of that list.

Now you can start selecting your filters! If you only want to see certain forums, check “Topics” and hit the gear icon to filter by specific forums. You can also cut the date range down to only show you activity within 7 days, or today, for example.

And finally, you can set it as your default activity stream by opening your custom activity stream from the “All Activity” menu. Then click on “Stream Options” and click “Set as your default stream”.

That’s about it! Thanks for reading and hope this helps!

p.s. Here’s my activity stream that filters for General Discussions, Suggestions, and Off Topic posts in the last 7 days:
