Civilian positions within the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner

 


Cafeteria Staff - 

Cafeteria staff workers at the county morgue provide essential support by managing the morgue's cafeteria facilities, ensuring a clean and hygienic environment, and offering food services to employees and visitors. They play a crucial role in maintaining the overall operation of the facility, ensuring that staff members have access to nourishing meals during their shifts. Full training is provided for this role and no previous cooking experience is required but is welcomed. Both full-time and part-time available for this position.

 


Shop Assistant - 

Full training is provided for this role. you will be responsible for running the gift shop at the county morgue and tasked with providing a unique and respectful shopping experience for visitors. They curate a selection of items such as memorial keepsakes, books, and other thoughtful and novelty gifts, allowing patrons to purchase curiosity items to bring a smile to anyone's face or find meaningful ways to remember and honour their loved ones.

 

 

Public Information Officer - 

The Public Relations Division represents a crucial side of the Los Santos Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner, since many people misinterpret our presence at crime scenes, as people think of us as rather evil, whereas our real goal is to bring peace for both the decedent and their families, friends and other relatives. The Public Relations work is to show people through their hard work, that our department means the best for all parties through their hard times.


 




Specialist positions within the Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner

 

 

- Forensic Attendant -  

Full training is provided and no prior skills or experience is needed. This role is your first step into the world of Forensic Science. New applicants will go through training provided by our facility to become a Coroner, as a new hire your main job is to complete the field training program and become a fully qualified Coroner. As a new applicant you will become the backbone of the entire department, making up the highest percentage of members. We offer have Various assignments for Forensic Attendants to be able to specialise in several areas such as recruitment, vehicle fleet technician, death certificate quality control. during their employment and compensate them well with bonuses and pay rises. We also offer university scholarships for those keen individuals wanting to move further up the career ladder and achieve a bachelors degree in a subject such as biology, chemistry, anthropology, and more. - Coroner Investigator -

Do you already have experience in the Forensic science field? Maybe you already have a minimum of a bachelors degree? Coroner Investigators investigate and report death cases which fall within the jurisdiction of the Los Santos Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner. Incumbents in this position take charge of the death scene and the body of the deceased, safeguard the personal property of the deceased, locate and notify the next of kin and conduct other duties as required. In addition to examining bodies and crime scenes, this role aims to complete various administrative tasks when working as one, keeping accurate records of the findings and presenting those findings to a court when necessary. This job requires excellent communication and writing skills. Furthermore, if one individual is the lead member of a team for the morgue, they may also supervise the work of morgue assistants or autopsy technicians.


 

- Medical Examiner -

Do you already have experience in the Forensic science field and hold a Medical Degree and USMLE certificate? Sounds like you might have what it takes to become a Medical Examiner. While also known as forensic pathologists, Medical Examiners are physician specialists trained in forensic and anatomical pathology. They use their medical skills to determine the cause of death, whether natural, accidental or intentional of the decedents. They also may be required to testify in legal cases, where their skills have been utilized. Furthermore, they may be gathering and examining evidence to determine the cause of death in criminal cases and unnatural or unattended deaths. Moreover, they may be present at the scene of the death to ensure that collected evidence gets safely transported to the laboratory for analysis. It's in the medical examiner's job to obtain medical records from hospitals and offices for evaluation. Once they have completed their investigation, medical examiners summarize their findings in writing and give verbal reports. They can serve as expert witness and testify in pre-trial and court hearings.
