Pre-San Andreas Story

Charles McTavish originates from Texas, he grew up within a pretty normal family within the Suburbs. Charles attended school and college without any issues & was always known as the silent type who stayed out of trouble. It was only until he was 24 years old, did things started to change. Charles began venturing further afield from his hometown, having lost most of his friends due to drug abuse & other issues Charles found himself alone in a dark world. Venturing to different towns & cities on an old Harley Davidson sportster he bought second hand at a good price. He fixed up the bike, learning himself how to repair the bike to a good condition & went on his travels.

It was during these travels, Charles' met another lone biker called [REDACTED] who he quickly got along with. The two began picking up other similar souls forming a small group of people. They went to towns & different cities partying to the early hours of the morning, it was then Charles began himself experimenting with drugs. Within a year the group had began needing money to fuel their parties, and the outings they were going on. Non of them had stable jobs due to the constant travelling, so the group looked to other means of making money.

At first, it started off with small things, scams & robbing people where they could. But soon, they had began robbing drug dealers at the clubs, later graduating to robbing the stash houses. Using their new loot, they'd sell drugs themselves. The new connections the group had began making lead them to finding out about certain locations which held goods, who they could sell to a chap called [REDACTED] in a small town off [REDACTED].

It was only a matter of time though, till the party would come to an end. Creating a load of noise, across multiple states without even trying to hide their actions the local authorities had been alerted to one of their parties where everyone was going to be that night. They had already gathered a tonne of evidence, including informants & undercover agents who'd purchased stolen goods & drugs from the group.

That night, Charles was running later fixing his motorcycle by the campsite the group used to travel from town to town if they couldn't find somewhere that would have them. He had another errand to go too, a girl in the town he'd been seeing which he didn't tell anyone about. After he was finally heading over to the group at the bar, upon arriving he could see in the distance down the street the entire scene was swarmed with armed officers. The entire group, apart from Charles was being hauled away.

Charles, now 28 knew it was time to make an escape & start again someplace new. Leaving the state into the next, Charles sold what he could and gathered all his funds, buying a ticket to the State of San Andreas on the earliest flight. Charles heard about San Andreas, & wanted to head there to the city of Los Santos to see what future he might find.

The Story so far...

Spoiler

Charles’ arrival at Los Santos Airport marked the beginning of a new beginning, a new chapter. With only the clothes on his back and access to the remaining funds via his bank account he transferred his funds too, he stepped into the city without even a mobile phone to connect him to his past. He walked through the airport, cautious of San Andreas and what kind of world he might find here.

He’d flag down a taxi, and Charles got his first introduction to the city. The taxi driver, acting as a tour guide, filled the ride with stories and insights about Los Santo from their own personal experiences. Their journey ended at a Motel in Del Perro, a depressing sight to behold upon entering, the first thing Charles notices is the drained, dis-used pool which looked grim from the heaps of cigarettes tossed in and smashed bottles laying at the bottom of the grimy surface. Charles get’s himself booked in to a room reluctantly so he has somewhere to at least sleep at night.

Over the next few days, Charles focused on finding employment. His efforts paid off when he secured a job as a trucker at a company renting out their trucks, he luckily heard this from a passerby who was talking about the company to someone. The job was a humble start, but Charles committed to it wholeheartedly. He even went a step further, applying for an HGV license to manage larger trucks, climbing the ranks through relentless hours being spent each day to try to escape the room he had to live at back at the motel.

However, the gruelling hours began to wear him down. It was during this time, few weeks into his new life, that he received a call from Brick, an old friend from Boston who had later joined him in his biker days in Texas. Brick's arrival in Los Santos marked a significant shift in Charles' life. The rekindled friendship pulled Charles back into old habits, including drug use. Before long, the two were selling small amounts of drugs in their free time for extra cash.

Their duo soon expanded into a trio with the addition of Dusty, a like-minded individual they met in Los Santos simply riding around on their motorbikes. The trio's activities escalated from occasional parties to more regular gatherings, involving drugs and making money through questionable means. They found other friendships such as Bobby, Louie, and Winnie, forming a network that shared information about drugs to one another so they could all benefit.

During this phase, Charles also returned to his roots, taking up work as a mechanic and leaving the trucking job behind. The income from his illicit activities ensured his room was paid for, with plenty left over for other ventures. He became a key member of the garage, Fukaru, where he spent his free time working on vehicles, making custom modifications, and general repairs. This job also expanded his network in Los Santos, making him a well-known figure in certain circles.

With the mechanic work paying off and a promotion at Fukaru, Charles was able to move up in the world. He purchased his first proper apartment in Morningwood, northwest of Los Santos. He and his friends made their presence known in the area, integrating into the local community while continuing their illicit activities.

Months passed, and Charles was well-established in Los Santos, but his life was about to take another turn. The group he had formed began to disband, members moved away, others vanished, most likely caught up in drug disputes. Only Dusty remained by his side along. The two grew closer, continuing their motorcycle rides and business ventures, Brick Charles’ close friend from Texas had moved out of Town and away.

Eventually, Charles and Dusty transitioned from mere survival to becoming key players in their neighbourhood. With accumulated wealth, they bought a bar in the area, aiming to shift their focus from illegal to legitimate business. They sought to serve their community, turning their bar into a local hub, a symbol of their journey from the fringes of society to becoming pillars of their neighbourhood in Los Santos.
