The El Burro Community

The El Burro Community is an unnamed group comprised of the neighborhoods primarily Hispanic young adult, and teenage residents. Battling poor socioeconomic conditions, a culture of criminal activity, and drug use paired with the lack of resources many of these youth seek refuge in each other. Standing together for their own protection against larger gangs, groups of tagbangers, and other well established criminal enterprises the group have established their willingness to fight for their own survival, however the group avoids causing trouble with more well-established criminals as they are largely unarmed and unprepared to conduct an all-out gang war, limited to fist fights, brawls and the rare melee weapon. The group started to shape after the collapse of once powerful Hispanic street gangs in the area, something the older lifelong residents have seen time and time again. Within El Burro gangs have formed, inflicted an iron grip over the community, and collapsed several times over the years due to a combination of gang indictments, and a series of brutal gang wars that left the once powerful groups shattered, and forced into obscurity, the only remnants being long faded tags along the walls.

There is no formal organization or leadership observable among the loosely organized group of youth residents, nor any real name or identifier. The groups members tend to follow the lead of older, and popular members however this is not always the case. A culture of petty crime ranging from small time drug dealing, mostly consisting of Marijuana sales, partying, tagging, and petty theft runs rampant amongst the group however anything beyond that is an extreme outlier amongst the individuals. Despite having a culture of petty crime and minor degeneracy there is no real organized effort or push towards organized criminal activity.

From within the group a small tagging crew known as "The Eastside Boyz" has recently formed, the exact size of the crew is not confirmed, but estimates suggest that the crew is most likely fewer than ten total members. There are only rumors surrounding how the group formed, and who started it, however the most common belief is that it was the creation of Jose Santiago, Felix Ortiz, and Ysrael Antolin after a night of tagging, and smoking marijuana together. Most accounts credit Felix with the idea of becoming an official crew, and coming up with the name, however there is no real evidence to back this up as those within the broader group either do not know themselves or are unwilling to shed light on the topic to those not within their own circles. The tagging clique typically engages in the same petty crime the overall group is with a focus, and mutual passion for graffiti, and art. They are found to be more likely to confront other cliques, and gangs from outside their neighborhood over tagging the area, or crossing out their own tags, however they, much like the overall community are unlikely to engage in armed confrontations and typically keep the violence to fist fights, and the occasional act of jumping somebody as a group.

Despite the proximity to the nearby well established Marrieta Valley Skinheads gang there has yet to be any signs of rivalry between the two groups, and it is not likely the two are working together, more so adopting a live and let live mentality between the two.

All recruitment for this faction is done in-character, however if you would like more information on how to get involved with us you can PM myself directly. We are portraying a clique of Mexican American Teenagers and Young Adults living and surviving in El Burro.
