On Sunday, June 18th at roughly 4:00pm an LSPD Officer was conducting their routine patrol in Little Seoul when they observed a black Vapid Victor, occupied by a female individual that appeared to be in uniform used by the Los Santos Sheriff's Department and their deputies.

Out of the intention to offer the uniformed Deputy assistance, the LSPD Officer decided to pull over to the side of the road and approach the female individual who was with local civilians, in the case there was any issues considering they were alone and in uniform. Upon approaching the female dressed as a Sheriff Deputy, the LSPD Officer noticed some irregularities with their "state issued" uniform: the female lacked important and common aspects of a Law Enforcement Officer by not having a department issued badge, name tag, and the Vapid Victor (pictured below) had no license plates.

Two witnesses out of the group of civilians told Los Santos Police that the female individual "had identified themselves as law enforcement" while taking actual statements from them, acting as if they were an Official Los Santos Sheriff's Department Deputy in the line of duty.

"The individual was noted to have several features on their uniform. Apart from being near identical in make and color, other things such as a LEO style radio, cuff pouches, and a pin used by the Sheriff's "OSS" unit was displayed. Their vehicle also was an exact make still in use by law enforcement, a Vapid Victor. It did not have a license plate. (The female individual) ... also was found to have an empty holster, which at this time was connected to their right hip.

Due to the evidence, the officer detained the individual for further investigation and has transported them from the scene. Our colleagues in the Los Santos Sheriff's Department were asked to the scene and confirmed the individual was not related to their agency." - A statement taken from a Los Santos Police Department Sargeant on-scene, Torrez.

The outcome of the detained female individual is yet to be determined as the LSPD and LSSD consult the San Andreas District Attorney's Office.

It is considered a Federal Crime to impersonate and act in the nature of a Law Enforcement Officer. 18 U.S. Code § 912 - Officer or employee of the United States, "Whoever falsely assumes or pretends to be an officer or employee acting under the authority of the United States or any department, agency or officer thereof, and acts as such, or in such pretended character demands or obtains any money, paper, document, or thing of value, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

The San Andreas District Attorney's Office may have a different course of action as this investigation remains on going in support of the Los Santos Police Department and Los Santos Sheriff's Department. If you witness any form of impersonation of a law enforcement officer within your locality, you are encouraged to dial 911 or contact your local police department.

The Insider has taken notice of a growing concern of impersonation cases in Little Seoul while reports of individuals acting as Law Enforcement Officers throughout the city continue to catch attention as well. Always remember to look for key features of any sworn uniformed Officer or Deputy: a department issued badge, badge number, name tag to identify the individual, and the presence of a state issued firearm in their duty belt holster.
