Downtown Mogadishu, Somalia (1970s) Pre civil-war Mogadishu was known as the "White Pearl" of Africa, given its historic and cultural beach resorts with white-sand beaches along its coast. As the cold war came to an end, communist Somalia devolved into clan warfare, with civil conflict rising and tearing the country apart. Millions of Somalis escaped the warzone as refugees and asylum seekers, scattering the Somali diaspora over the globe. Los Santos The very first Somali-Americans arrived in the United States as seamen aboard fishing crews as early as the 1930s up to the 1950s. It wasn't until the early 1990s that Somalis began fleeing to the United States in considerable numbers, landing in states throughout the United states as migrants of war, making the United States the world's second largest concentration of Somalis outside of Somalia, with 300,000 Somalis inhabiting the US. Many recently migrated Somalis landed in San Andrean cities such as San Fierro and Los Santos, drawn by left-wing politicians and greater living standards. South central formed a modest concentrate of the LS Somali diaspora from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s. Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) are a small . Somali-American street crew The crew is made up of Somali kids from impoverished families who have turned to crime in order to improve their circumstances. Because the majority of Somali kids are second generation immigrants who have grown up integrated and accustomed to the American way of life, the crew operates similarly to an African-American street gang. The crew works out of the Fantastic Pl apartment complex, which is a low-income housing project in downtown LS. This group's criminal activities vary from burglary and armed robbery to more severe crimes including drug trafficking and prostitution.

It was not until the civil war began in the early 90s that Somalis began fleeing to the United States in large numbers, settling in states across America as migrants of war, making the U.S. the 2nd largest concentration globally of Somalis outside of Somalia with a total of 300,000 Somalis residing within the states. Attracted by left-leaning politicians and higher standards of living, many newly migrated Somalis settled in San Andrean cities like San Fierro and Los Santos. From the mid-90s to early 2000s, downtown LS became a small concentration of the LS Somali diaspora. Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) The Mali Money Boyz (M.M.B) are a Somali-American street crew. The crew consists of Somali youth from impoverished households that have turned to crime in attempts to better their living conditions. The Mali Money Boyz operate out of the Fantastic Pl apartment complex, a low-income housing project located in downtown LS. Criminal activities committed by this group range from drug and weapon trafficking, to armed robbery and burglary.
