  1. What you're referring to, though, is straight up bad RP and powergaming. If I have been roleplaying someone who is really competent in hand to hand combat the whole way through, it makes no sense to get knocked out by some weedy guy who's never been in a fight before just because his player is better at game mechanics - that's just another level of poor RP. On the flipside, if I've made no mention of my character's ability prior and it only manifests when engaging in a fight - without any detriment to physicality - that's just poor RP, too. It's easy enough to dip a punch, not so easy to dip a bullet. Either way, consent should be received from both agreeing parties before potentially crippling injury is inflicted on someone simply because they didn't read the /me fast enough before getting their heads bludgeoned in.
  2. The key difference here is that most people are of a pretty equal proficiency in regards to walking down the street. I don't know about you but I think I'm pretty adept at walking down the street, as are most people. Also, walking down the street doesn't have a direct effect on another person's character. Fighting does. People have different levels of proficiency at fighting and that can't be shown by rapidly spamming left click. Take for example I have two characters: Evie Summers - Evie is a 23 year old girl who's never really been exposed to harsh and violent things. If she were to be attacked, she'd likely get pasted and knocked out with ease. I've always roleplayed this so if someone was to start spamming punches at me, so long as they cleared it OOC with me first that that's how the RP would go, then I'd be okay with it. She has no real defence. Edward Summers - Edward is a 28 year old guy who's been enlisted in the British military from the second he left school. He served multiple tours in Afghanistan with both the 16th Air Assault Brigade and then served for several years in the Special Forces Support Group. By this experience, he'd be pretty adept at defending himself in a 1v1 scenario. So, how is it justifiable that he gets leathered by some random drunk just because the random drunk's player spammed left click first. It makes no IC sense. I'm heavily in favour of banning punchwhoring unless both parties agree to it. It's just bad RP.
  3. Not the worst US president there's ever been...
  4. Edward Summers: Evie Summers (trying her best to be "street"):
  5. I think a big detriment to the taxi drivers as well is that people go to clubs and bars in their own cars, drink alcohol and then drive off as if they haven't drank. If there was a cap on people doing this, maybe a step up of police presence on drink driving, the taxis would get more customers at peak times. I always try to use a taxi if my characters are heading for a night out. Either way, +1. Support the taxis.
  6. +1 for the idea, not sure how you'd implement. One of the features that was really useful in ARMA 3's ACE mod was the implementation of a speed limiter. You hit the key at your desired speed and then the vehicle wouldn't accelerate beyond that - maybe that's an easier way to implement it until a better solution is found.
  7. +1 from me. More customization is always a good thing.
