  1. Hi, I play Harper Cassidy. As one of the main Doctors on the server and an IRL ENP who's extremely passionate about the field I thought I should go ahead and chime in, keeping in mind that I haven't read all 22 pages of this thread because simply, nope. I'll throw my two cents below and people can tag me if I need to expand or provide more direct input on anything. Everything we do at Pillbox in a medical roleplay capacity is with the foremost mindset/objective of enhancing story / character development, and NOT punishing or contributing difficulty or negative impact on a player or their story. We do not and have not ever forced anyone to roleplay out their injuries or a realistic timeframe of recovery. In fact, more often than we not, we significantly streamline/timelapse things to get the player back out roleplaying as soon as possible. We do not force any course of action on a player during their injuries/recovery and instead simply use our experience (as most of us do work in the field) to help guide/direct a player to a relatively realistic outcome that meets with their approval. As a supervising member of PHMC, I've never been made aware of any complaints regarding these and if there are any, they should've been directed to the right channels. We usually only get positive feedback as far as injury / medical roleplay from other players. Any OOC confusion from medical 'mumbo jumbo' is usually clarified during our roleplay through the use of guidance /do's or /b to help players know how they MIGHT react to a specific medication or procedure. Again, we're here to enhance and contribute, not hinder. As far as enhancements go: There are things in the works and being considered such as a wider range of script items/medications. We've also just completely remapped almost the entire hospital (shoutout Marzia/gnv) to better facilitate different avenues of RP that players MIGHT wish to pursue, such as the ICU, Pediatrics, Dentistry and Mental health. We're actively recruiting to try and minimize and gaps in coverage or downtime but this is the foremost challenge of any medical-related faction, on any server, in any platform, period. Not everyone has the same passion for this sort of stuff and that makes recruiting extremely difficult. I'd like to see a wider arrange of script items / prescriptions, personally. I think it could further the economy and enhance our roleplay. Another positive change would be greater incentive for pursuing medical positions/factions, whether it be monetary compensation or some other benefits. As for anything that requires payment: We have certain models that encourage payment, such as paying to access/release your medical records (because these are extremely detailed and require considerable time to create). As well as at-home care / patient services. But I wouldn't support anything on a large scale that forced players to have to pay for any kind of coverage. I think that would negatively impact. I would be extremely hesitant to encourage or promote the idea of new / expanded medical factions or practices without the same kind of IC and OOC oversight that groups like PHMC and LSFD are held to. We've seen cases in the past where things like this had popped up and had a detrimental lack of medical literacy or realism to it, along with copious IC legal ramifications (malpractice, impersonating a doctor, etc) I do not agree with or approve of any system or changes that would negatively impact a player or their story, or force debilitating levels of realism. We're here to enhance and support a story / character development, not force handicaps.
