Shooting at AURA Nightclub: A Retelling

Akari, Co-Founder

Kaizen Corporation

Earlier tonight, a shooting occurred out front of AURA Nightclub in south Los Santos. The owner and manager, Ashley Hendricks, has been under fire for several hours due to her handling of the situation - specifically, continuing to run advertisements for the venue whilst the victim, a female, lay deceased in the building’s parking lot for an extended period of time after the incident.

One account, lovingly named Trashley Hendricks, along with another Facebrowser user, Steven Keo, both posted images of the body after the incident. For the sake of privacy and respect for the victim, I've blurred out the contents of the images posted.

After several posts criticizing both Hendricks for continuing to advertise, and the two Facebrowser users for posting images of the body, Ashley Hendricks herself makes a statement.

After receiving backlash for her behaviour and false claims, she disables comments on the post. At the same time, user Trashley Hendricks brings to attention the fact she has not offered any public condolences to the victim whatsoever.

Hendricks not only re-enables her comments, but also edits the post to include a condolence.

Meanwhile, I’ve gathered a few recounts of the incident from several sources (some shown below among others), some who wish to stay anonymous.

After piecing them together and ensuring they all match up, I’ve reconstructed a timeline of how the situation unfolded;

Two men, one in a van and another in a car following behind, stopped behind the club. One was wearing a white hoodie. A girl was in the parking lot on her phone. The two men approached her and grabbed her. As she screamed for help, it caused a commotion. Meanwhile, a cruiser with two officers was performing a routine traffic stop on two women further down the parking lot.

People began to gather around the scene. An Executive Security employee, a male, came forward and attempted to stop the man in the white hoodie from harassing the girl. The man harassing the girl then pulled out a gun. It’s unclear when the second man pulled his weapon or which man was holding which firearm, but we’ve received word that one had a pistol while the other had a submachine gun. One man ran to get the cops performing the traffic stop further down the parking lot - as he did, the men opened fire. We’ve received no word that the security guard was injured, but the girl they were attempting to abduct was shot several times. Her body was left laying in the parking lot for quite some time after the shooting. The men took off, police following.

One witness, Zylas McDee, claims he was ushered inside AURA Nightclub by a second Executive employee - red hair, in a black cap. The male employee radioed in to the club, telling them there’s been a shooting outside and to lock the doors. McDee said as he was taken into the club for safety, he witnessed Ashley Hendricks attempting to come outside. She was blocked by the same female guard that brought McDee inside, though. Paramedics eventually arrived onscene and declared the victim DOA. During the time of these incidents, it’s confirmed that ads for AURA Nightclub were still running, despite the recent shooting outside and the male guard telling the club’s staff inside to lock the doors.

This recount of the situation directly implies that Hendricks was lying in her statement on Facebrowser, regarding not knowing about the situation. Not only was the incident all over social media, both with ridicule and actual photos, but Executive Security staff working at AURA Nightclub radioed in the situation directly after it happened, and Hendricks was soon seen actively attempting to exit the building into the parking lot. Hendricks was 100% aware of the situation that was going on outside - she chose to ignore it in favor of her own capital. Even when security asked her to lock the doors and keep those inside safe, she continued to aggressively advertise the venue and bring more customers in. With all of this taken into account, it is clear and evident that Hendricks’ thirst for profit comes with no regard for morality or the safety of those she capitalizes off of.
