On this edition of the Cold, Hard Truth, what seemed to be a usual arrest turned into an enticing confrontation between the Police Department and the Sheriff's Department. During the opening of the Dragon Bar on March 15, 2023, two adolescent African American males entered the bar, one after the other. One of these men was covered in black clothing and a mask, signifying some sort of malicious activity either happening or happened. Regardless, the masked individual confronted the other male, making gang-like comments towards him. As the two continued to jest between each other, the masked individual then began to throw punches at the other individual, causing both of them to brawl. It wasn't until the masked individual succeeded in beating down the younger individual, was when two of the crowd behind them jumped onto the masked individual. Pinning him to the ground, they awaited the appearance of the Sheriff's Department, which soon followed a few minutes later. The situation, though sloppy and lazy-like on part of the Sheriff's Department's Douglas Barnes and his brigade of Deputies, was handled without any problems from either the assailant, which is to be identified as Mykelti Woods, or the rest of the crowd that watched in utter disgust.

As the arrest was finished, an Officer, who was later identified as Oliver Specter, arrived on the scene. With this being the case, tempers flared from the Deputy's side, specifically one Deputy by the name of Taylor Morales. Mr. Morales has had a history of malicious behavior towards any and all. But with Officer Specter on the scene, his emotions flared, causing him to react to the Officer's presence with empty threats, exclaiming towards Officer Specter that he should "Walk" before "What happened in Vespucci happens again, 'omie." With this statement, Mr. Specter saw it as a threat, but Deputy Morales disengages the situation before anything was to happen, especially in front of his co-workers in the field.

As if Morales' behavior couldn't be any out of order, he then assaulted a male individual who, in regard to the Deputies, was driving hectically. It did not help though, that Mr. Morales was maneuvering in front of the male's car, in anticipation of the driver to strike him with his vehicle. The driver was then let go, with several verbal warnings from the Deputies. With the tempers lowering, the peak of all of this was when Deputies let Mr. Mykelti Woods go on account of him "spazzing if he isn't let go". He was then trespassed from The Dragon Bar, but with little to no repercussions as far as attacking a minor inside a business.

And the funniest thing about all of this is, that it all was engaged in or around an Asian-owned Business. Sakura Akiyama, owner of the Dragon Bar, stated that she was not surprised that the Deputies let this criminal go. This could be due to their lack of efforts as far as actual work, or it could be because they have no warranted use in protecting a business owned by an Asian business owner, who is a woman. The Akiyama's own the property as far as both the Dragon Bar and Temple Tokyo. With problems swerving left and right, the Sheriff's Department either give too much effort in the situation or too little. In this instance, the criminal they let go was a public safety hazard, as he was radically driving up and down the street of which these businesses were located at.

This just goes to show how low the bar is for the Sheriff's Department and the communication between them and the minority group of Asians in Los Santos, no matter the location or ethnicity.
