A Blizzard and snowstorm warning has been issued by various by several weather stations and Meteorologists. This is not the first time snow has hit the state, with snow hitting the city at a similar time last year. Current reports note that snow is expected to fall on the 24th of December 2023 making this year a white Christmas. The forecast calls for up to 4 feet of snow in the city, and wind speeds of 50 to 55 mph. The San Andreas Government is yet to issue any warnings, or plans for countering the rare event that is set to hit in just a few days. With the combination of snow and high winds, it is expected to be bitterly cold so residents of Los Santos should wrap up warm and only travel if essential.

If you do need to drive somewhere you should follow these tips:

  • Plan your route
  • Check for delays on the roads, highways and service roads.
  • Leave more time for your journey and set off early.
  • Pack essentials in your car including food, water, blankets.
  • Ensure the car is road worthy.

Beyond staying safe on the road you should also ensure that your home is prepared. We are after all a beach state and most homes are not prepared for such conditions. Make sure you have an adequate heating system and it effectively warms the house. Dress appropriately, wear several layers including hats, scarfs, large coats and gloves. As obvious as it is you will be sure to see some locals wearing shorts and a t-shirt despite the deep snow. Contact your friends and family, especially the elderly and those living up north in the rural areas. If you or anyone else gets into danger contact 911 immediately who no doubt have plans in place to ensure the city's safety.

With this being so close to Christmas, please take care and enjoy the snow, and respect the danger behind it.
