This generational transition occurred due to their parents or grandparents converting to Sunni Islam after the passing of Elijah Muhammad in 1975. Those who converted to Sunni Islam believe that the primary factor preventing most Nation of Islam members from converting is the compelling personality and charisma of Louis Farrakhan.

Organizations like the Moorish Science Temple of America and the Five-Percent Nation put their own spins on black identity and spirituality.

Warith Deen Mohammed, the son of Elijah Muhammad, played a pivotal role in moving the Nation of Islam away from the NOI's more controversial teachings, he initiated a series of reforms that led the organization away from its previous state, including the rejection of racial separatism, his teachings guided the NOI towards a more orthodox interpretation of Islam.

Under his leadership, the organization was transformed until Louis Farrakhan stepped in. Warith Deen Mohammed received widespread support from the international Muslim community, but the changes he made within the Nation of Islam were not universally accepted.

Following Malcolm X's departure from the NOI, he continued to advocate for civil rights, racial equality, and unity among African Americans. His tragic assassination in 1965 forced a crucial change in the entire movement, which was widely known to be a victim of internal divisions. There was a split and some factions retained elements of the NOI's separatist beliefs, while others focused more on integration and mainstream Islam.

The black Muslim movement has left an enduring impact on Los Santos' society and culture. It challenged the dominancy of white supremacy and highlighted the tenacity Black individuals. The movement's emphasis on education, economic empowerment, and community building resonated with many African Americans seeking a sense of purpose.

o18kvo-b88610576z.120160119213351000gj4e8rpe.10.jpg?w=780The San Andreas prison and county jail system is a complex and diverse environment where individuals from various backgrounds interact, forming connections and groups to cope with the challenges of incarceration, among these groups are religious groups, the Muslim population seems to be the one with the fastest growth rate. A huge percentage of the Muslims in the prison system converted or reverted in prison. They are usually seen as a tight-knit and militant group.

The notion that some bad actors follow the lifestyle of a Black Muslim in prison to attain protection, better food, better living conditions and wealth is usually duplicated on the outside, where most converts still hold enough influence to attain connections that are then used to acquire money and power, while some may be complete frauds, most are true believers who see illicit activates as the only way to acquire funds due to the constraints that society places on them for having a bad record.

Recidivism rates have historically been a concern, with a significant percentage of released prisoners returning to criminal activities. According to data from the San Andreas Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) as of September 2023, the three-year recidivism rate for all offenders in San Andreas was around 37.7%, meaning that almost half of the released prisoners were reconvicted of a new crime or returned to prison within three years of their release.

This concept seeks to portray a group of mostly former and current gang members who dabble in crime to support their lifestyles. A majority of the members are ex-convicts who converted to Islam in prison, this is where their connection was established.

The group will also be focused on the upliftment of black characters, businesses, black empowerment and community development overall. The basis of this is solely to encourage other aspects of roleplay within the black community on the server which is currently oversaturated with violence, numerous businesses and events will be created that cater to community development.

For clarification, some people who have already relinquished their slave names in character would have it set in game, but we encourage people to start off or even keep normal African American first and last names.

It's worth highlighting that not all characters in the group practice Islam. It is also important to note that you shouldn't expect to see exemplary Muslims, most of our characters are roleplaying being recent reverts who are still battling the influence of their previous beliefs.

If you're interested in joining this faction, it is important to note that this isn't a borderline OCG, the type of crime that you do is solely based on your character's age and development. While any progression within the faction is completely IC, it'd be best to contact us before making a character.

The faction itself comprises of a few sub sets, the mains one being in Morningwood (Cougar Avenue) and Strawberry Avenue.
