A post about combating trolls and bad RPers became a troll post itself 😄

Make it player owned. Ban the trolls and players that want to harm the community. Case closed.

Not trolling. Just saying its funny the biggest group of bullies and toxic hyper melvins on the server are complaining about trolling and bad RP when they have the admin record to prove it. K-Town has been dead since Decker and CSK gassed everybody out of there. You reap what you sow!

  2. “It's not a thought, you quite literally told me you're willing to make an OOC issue out of someone else's roleplay.“

I already explained this in my initial reply. I already endured enough, but you only want to have it your way. If you keep pressing the roleplay I’m going to have to ignore your faction because there’s no bail-out for my civilian character. That’s the “OOC issue” I will make out of it. There’s not much more in my power I can do. But if you want to see more behind it  You’re adding too much weight to what I said. I already gave you an apology. Nowhere did I deliberately insult you.

“You own a business, you don't get to decide what you do or don't roleplay. Your business is in violation and therefore, scrutinized by the faction who upholds the standards around the Fire Code and Public Safety standards of the server. This is 1:1 with what it's like to be a business owner in the United States of America, if you don't want this roleplay, I don't know what to tell you, sorry you don't like it.”

You’re taking this whole fire marshal thing a bit too seriously and mixing IC and OOC. The realism argument is just silly. People use that argument whenever it suits them. Just because you want to roleplay a fire/business simulator doesn't mean that I desire the same thing. Just because I choose to lease a theater on my character doesn't make me want to do a whole financial administration. With your logic, everybody should get an electrician from Aurum Energy over to hook them to the electrical grid or they would not be allowed to roleplay having electrical power for the sake of realism. I roleplay because it's a collaborative writing platform and telling a story, not realism for the sake of realism. If you don’t agree with that (fine), go roleplay with somebody else. I’m not stopping you or invading your space. You’re coming to me all the time!

If policing realism and doing fire inspections is the very fabric of your forum faction (your words) I really wonder in what universe the person who came up with this idea thought it was a good idea. Go create your own roleplay!

“It's quite clear you've never been to sfm.gta.world and looked at the application process which takes under five minutes to do. I'll show you an example of what I was asking you to do, SFM automatically withdraws a small lump-sum of 1,500 from your business bank, which is nothing and we schedule an inspection from there. I cannot issue a certificate without paperwork which was also explained to you and you tried to circumvent.”

I haven’t looked at it and I’m not planning to. You already told me it’s a 3-minute exercise before. I just think it’s a silly development on a roleplay server, which is why I’m objecting to it out of principles. Literally what does it add? It’s almost like a Terry Gilliam film. You already said fire inspections are dumb so idk why we're arguing.

    Hi.

It seems there is some confusion as to the nature of this report, or what I am being reported for. It was brought to me that OP thought I was going to take “OOC measures” (of what nature?) to resolve the issue when I simply meant that I don’t like the roleplay — that being an OOC issue. At no point in time did I insult you. I simply raised my concerns about their faction’s roleplay, which was disregarded by the faction on two occasions. On both occasions, they responded with sassy hostility and refused to address the issue, but I didn’t escalate the interactions over PMs.

However, this report only regards my most recent interaction with OP. I didn’t break any rules and didn’t mean to offend OP. So sorry for that.

To make it clear: I'm not against OP roleplaying a fire marshal and whatever comes with it. Neither do I have any quarrel with him personally. I'm just against having to fill out a ludicrous form when a /me would suffice. It is outlandish.

There is an extent to which I am willing to endure roleplay that I do not enjoy. I offered OP an in-character solution by doing the inspection on the premises, but they refused. (I’m still open to it should you change your mind). Though, if somebody keeps pressing roleplay on me that I don't like I will just avoid them. That is common courtesy. However, if they keep coming to my business to force roleplay on me I have no other option but to make it known that I will ignore it. I don't see why the Fire Marshals should be any exception to this

What concerns me is that if Leslie doesn’t go along with their demands, next time they will call the police and the situation will escalate. And when I complain, they will say "keep it IC". I think that grants OP’s faction an unfair advantage because my character is in no way equipped to take the upper hand in the in character interaction. It’s a lose-lose situation for me. “Keep it IC” is an easy bailout.

The faction shouldn’t exert any authority over me out of character, and I feel like OP only came into my business to argue with me and agitate me just so they could post this silly report against me, because at no point in time did I insult anybody. I've made it clear from the first interaction with their faction that I don't find it enjoyable at all and I’m not willing to keep engaging. The only thing they’ve done with my out-of-character concerns is dismiss it and keep pressing the roleplay deliberately minutes prior to a movie screening. I could have just explained this to OP without a forum report if they asked, and we could have looked for a solution (which we can still get to if OP is willing to speak to me).

Anyway, at no point in time did I break the common courtesy rule, and it is not an attack on OP personally. The heat has all been in-character par the PMs exchanged with them and the other FM weeks ago (for which I got reported in-game!) and Adv said it "didn't get too heated" and there was "no breach of common courtesy".

Additionally, I provided an in-character solution as per Adv's suggestion because I don't really want to make an out-of-character issue out of it. I offered the faction to do the inspection on the premises. I tried to find a midground and added sprinklers and an alarm console to my interior (I donated extra in order to do this), so I think Leslie follows the fire code.

The government also probably has Leslie’s phone number on record to schedule an appointment outside of opening hours.

Anyway, just talk to me and we can try to find a solution we can both live with.
