Hey guys I have 2 point to quickly say.. 1. I Finally got unbanned after nearly 2 weeks from my 3 day ban... YAAAAY 2. This Thread has opened my eyes alot.. I'm glad that people are having nice conversations and it's interesting to see older members of this community interact with newer members ? Thanks to you guys I've been able to have a second shot at this and I'm gonna take what I've learned here and properly apply it into my character ?

there were 0 questions asking about the commands the questions consisted of situational scenarios and writing rules in our own words I did my entire application myself, the only help I got was looking up what metagaming and powergaming were in the rules

common sense? and nah i didn't know about any of that until at least 10-20 hours into playing, I just used normal chat and /anim

fair I'll probably stop for a while and continue RP elsewhere in a few months

Yeah I get it, I will try to continue here because I don't want to start again but I may have to spend a year on a different server and come back.. not the best situation but eh, what can you do?

that's nice to hear, I just wanted to understand what constitutes a ban, personally having friends who try to keep up with English on different servers is fine, It's nice to hear that there is some thought on that.. thank you for being a good admin ?

Not Really, But surely it doesn't seem a little unfair that people are getting banned for what I assume is not knowing enough English to fully RP situations and then getting permabanned because of it.. when this is a global server? I could have used a RP server as example but I went for something I've actually Been part of sorry if that confused things

It feels like a case of ''I say potato you say potato'' I Think People should be able to use a language that at least consists of Latin characters (The Alphabet) and not Cyrillic or Pinyin or any other character based language as this probably would be too hard to implement across the server if it doesn't run off a Unicode based text. As for Punctuation, I feel that it is useful but a lack of punctuation can more involve your character, and also having a relaxed rule for this could make Bilingual People's lives easier on the server. I will admit I do get that Vibe from some of the people I've Seen, I think that some of the staff could work on this but it's not necessary, What I do think is important is that staff implement a new ban screen that isn't perma-ban because from what ban appeals I've read many people are outraged that they got permabanned immediately, having an immediate 3 day ban for what I want to call ''low level RP'' is good, I think it would be easier for a single rule to be placed down, so that none of the admins get any calls of abuse of power, and it would filter out those who aren't willing to improve, because those people wouldn't return after the 3 days, those who are truly sorry and willing to improve will join back once the ban is lifted. As for the elitist thing, sometimes to enforce such high quality you have to be harsh, I would assume that the admins lead by example, and if that is the case, I feel like it is justified. However this could seriously make this server not fun for some people. This is a great point: I must admit after my ban on Friday I felt utterly disappointed, 30 hours In 4 days was the time I had spent Grinding In garbage collections, stores and other things to get a nice car and just over 100k in the bank. I didn't want to come back, I can only imagine that lots of people experience the same thing. Sometimes people make mistakes without knowing, specially if they are first time RP-ers.. the youtube face of roleplay is different to this.. I certainly wasn't expecting this level of RP... I'll get used to it, I'll certainly try hard or that will have been for nothing ?

Yes, that would be perfect, But putting those links in the whitelist application would be better, I only signed up to the forums so I could Ban Appeal and I only realised help was here after I joined..

See that's interesting, because in that case shouldn't I have been able to join from the whitelist quiz? Surely I should have failed.. or been told I needed experience elsewhere to join? But that doesn't seem right.. I will admit it took around an hour for me to complete but It was just common sense, I forgot If there was even a question at any point asking If I had RPd before If so, would that be justifiable to turn down completely unexperienced players such as myself at the first hurdle?

Nah you don't sound rude don't worry, A lot of it is common sense tbh but I think that common sense only goes so far, My problem was Navigating things not knowing which /commands to use primarily but yeah, the server shouldn't expect this server to be a lot of people's second server, because in reality, a lot of people come here first time and if they go to another server, chances are they won't think twice about coming back. which would be a shame... but Yeah what do I know I've got 0 clue ??

It's fine, I know what I did, The problem is, without understanding, I thought that the Admin was being Rude and unjust, and After a very bad ban appeal I can say I'm thankful I'm not permabanned for good I think Especially with all the new players coming from EpicGames It'd be nice to have something in place to help. ?

That's a great Idea, I thought it was primarily to deter spam accounts and then to ensure players are serious, but a lot of my answers were pure guesses, If there was a simple slide by slide guide that told me that I could use /me /do /b /b-mc, Admin names are red and a few other things, the amount of time spent completing ban appeals by admins would drop considerably, instead this means more active surveillance of the server, which means that more people can in theory be caught with more serious offenses. just a thought?

So a few days ago I was banned for a lack of RP, I'm currently awaiting the ban to be lifted... But it made me think, after going through some other ban appeals to see if I was different to others I realised that a lot of the time, new players to the server that were also new to RP were being banned for a lack of convincing RP, after reading the descriptions, many of them were valid reasons to be banned, but most of them could easily be preventable. I have searched through the first 10 pages of the forums, and I can't find anything telling new players how RP Really works, maybe putting a tutorial into the loading screen could help? like I didn't know about /me and /do and /b for at least my first 15 hours of play. A friend saw a post where a guy was banned for walking away from an admin during a /b chat, but he didn't know that he was an admin. Instead of discussing with him and showing him how it was done, he was banned. I can no longer find this particular thread to share, but I feel like It was important. My situation at one point was similar; And I think it gives admins a bad name, damn, even I thought the admins were bad until I learned that the guy who banned me was right, If I'm wrong on any of this let me know, If you have any potential solutions please share, and If you have any advice for me on how to start my RP better any advice is useful. (If you want to see my ban find it under the lv.3 admin 'Thirteen') also this is my fist post on general so I'm so sorry if I've got this all wrong ?
