  1. $55,000 $XXX,XXX SOLD $XXX,XXX SOLD $XX,XXX SOLD
  2. The suggestion doesn't necessarily advocate for the removal of licenses or Blaine Aviation, it suggests that a solution should be sought, be that lowering the number of lessons to one final lesson, giving that responsibility to SAAA all together, basically giving players the ability to roleplay having previous experience for one, and not making it something that takes a month or longer to attain; but yes, there should definitely be some sort of a filter to prevent trolling and OOC fuckery
  3. I wish that was the case, it takes atleast a week to get 1 lesson in!
  4. That summarizes the suggestion here: 1- IRL you have to know hundreds of things, but on GTAW there are only a couple of steps you need to know to pass a test and never make use of them, the syllabus is limited and should not be stretched over 4 lessons. 2- One of the possible solutions suggested is giving the responsibility of issuing licenses to SAAA since it makes no sense for SAAA to delegate that responsibility to academies when there is no interest, thus creating a monopoly. 3- ATC is very much required for this field of roleplay, unlike knowing how to recover from a stall while flying, which will never be of use ingame. As a person with experience in testing and assessment, two of the most important constructs that have to be taken into consideration creating tests are authenticity (testing valiable information) and practicality. 4- Your comparison of pilots and lawyers is also one of the suggestions mentioned: instead of 4 tests, there is a single final test that players should pass, similar to CCW, PF ...etc.
  5. I believe you are mistaking this for a report. This is a suggestion, inherently based on biased opinions; there were plenty of different suggestions from other players but one thing remains the same as can be seen by the great deal of support, change is very much required to pilot licenses. In addition, I don't wish for this topic to turn into an argumentative thread, although I understand your fraustration due to your personal interests in keeping things the way they are, even if, at worst case scenario pilot licenses are removed, Blaine Aviation remains intact and you guys can roleplay as you wish, except for the monetary income of course; which is also the case for any of the possible solutions me or other players have brought to light. I agree with your last point; however, I do believe in allowing people to choose how much they want to roleplay when it comes to repetitive actions, say turning, going up, going down and whatnot, and only forcing them to roleplay critical actions. This is a very niche field of roleplay that is limited even further by the number of restrictions hindering players from engaging in it
  6. Since we are comparing a game to real life, in real life you are flying a plane with hundreds of controls. Blaine Aviation's syllabus is information that players will never output ingame and could be learned in 10 minutes to pass a simple test; the CCW license guides are more rigorous and demanding, yet they are done online followed by a single test. I would argue that most of the guide won't be used ingame except for preflight checks, starting the engine, traffic patterns & terminology. Which would take a single lesson at best. I am not against Blaine Aviation choosing to roleplay a flight simulator, I am against forcing the entire playerbase to the same and believe giving over the responsibility of issuing licenses to SAAA would be more benefitial to the server in the long run. Also for your argument concerning aviation academies, people don't necessarily want to run an aviation company issuing licenses and making bank. They simply want to roleplay flying the way they can drive a boat; I would also argue that the time it takes you to get 4 lessons in with the small number of instructors and difference in timezones ...etc. is putting people off from roleplaying pilots all together, which is rendering recent piloting script additions a waste. • An example of being inclusive is how JSE allows people to roleplay as lawyers without actually having to be lawyers, eventhough it takes much more to be a lawyer than to be a pilot and you can clearly see how that is proving benefitial to the server!
  7. I understand that you guys want to roleplay every single movement a character makes, but this is a game, people are here to have fun, the only players who actually roleplay every single part of flying are instructors. I don't think your average GTAW player who squeezes 2 hours after work in the evening to have fun would be roleplaying anything but minimally required steps. Players are basically forced to learn certain things in order to pass a test, which is referred to as the washback effect, give players freedom to decide what they want to roleplay. I'm not against Blaine Aviation, I appreciate the passion for flying, but you cannot force others to enjoy the same roleplay you enjoy. I don't want the suggestion to diverted into something I didn't intend it to be. The main suggestion is: let players fly without having to wait more than a month to learn something that can be learned in 10 minutes reading a guide -... -...be that by giving SAAA responsibility of issuing licenses and lesson planning, removing pilot licenses all together and preventing trolling by a hefty license price (100k+) or introducing an intricate ingame tutorial. Whatever the solution is, one thing is axiomatic, change is needed!
  8. I do understand depth and effort you guys put into this field of roleplay; however, it should not be enforced on everyone. I don't think any pilot ingame consciously thinks of altitude flactuations, flying behind other planes, making turns, stalling and whatnot. The same way you don't roleplay clutching, shifting gears, checking your blind spots ..etc. when operating a land vehicle!
  9. They would still have to pass a test conducted by a real player however, but don't forget that driving boats is equally as hard and challenging yet it is not restricted whatsoever!
  10. Supernova

    SOLD

Willing to take the first one for 170
  11. We can, but there is no interest, there has only been 2 applications in 2 years, and one of them being Blaine Aviation. I don't see how it is fair for a small niche group of players to limit the entire playerbase's roleplay and fun
  12. That would be prefered; however, there is hardly any interest in aviation academy roleplay, there has only been 2 academy applications in SAAA's 2 years of existence, one of them being Blaine Aviation. SAAA should instead be given the responsibility of licensing and facilitating this kind of roleplay through air traffic controllers ..etc., which has abundant interest!
  13. Detailed Description The current pilot license system involves choosing from a single San Andreas Aviation Administration aviation academy which is Blaine Aviation, and doing 4 ingame lessons which have to be done by one of the limited number of authorized instructors that Blaine Aviation has. That could extend to a month of waiting considering different timezones, different committments and whatnot. There is hardly any interest in instructor roleplay which makes it extremely hard to find an instructor 4 times; and it shows, their discord is nothing but people asking for lessons. Players want to have fun. Yes there should be a system in place to keep trolling at bay, but pilot roleplay is nearly non existent because of the system in place. - Another side issue I'd like to bring, is the fact that if you get into an OOC conflict of some sort with a higher ranking member of the only authorized academy, you have no way of accessing pilot licenses. After criticizing the current system, I'd like to present a possible solution: - Remove academies and introduce an ingame tutorial that includes multiple phases, to inform you of how to roleplay flying properly be it fixed wing or rotary. It should a practical test similar to the driver's license tutorial. - After completing the tutorial(s) ingame, you are required to request a final test from SAAA, that involves an actual player instructor, if you pass, you are issued a license. - (Optional) In order to further keep trolling at bay, the price could be raised to $100,000 instead of $80,000. Constructive criticism is most welcome. Relevant Commands/Items /pilottutorial How will it benefit the server? This will allow players to roleplay what they which to roleplay instead of having to wait a month or two to receive a pilot license. A change is very much required at this point and I believe many would agree.
  14. Still available, price lowered to 340k.
  15. How much are you offering ontop?
  16. Tempting offer; however, I'm only looking for cash.
