  1. Certainly not one of the most pressing bugs, but I agree this would be "nice to have", however I would prefer if the focus were on other more pressing issues. However, two other things I would like to see done to the chat-system.. Again, "nice to have" and certainly not a priority right now, but I'll drop it in here anyways. -The upper most line of text is cut off, could this be resized so it includes an the entirety of the last line of text? -When you press the up-key to repeat your previous message, it places the "I-Beam" (the thing that shows where you are editing the text) at the beginning of the line of text. It would be much nicer, if it places the "I-Beam" at the end of the text.
  2. From out of nowhere, the game suddenly works.. I haven't tried booting the game for a week or so, so once more it's really hard pinpointing what fixed it. I expect the problem to return at some point, as that has been the trend the last two times.. But for now I guess this topic can be locked, I will request it opened if/when it should retur.
  3. I did have a chat with my internet provider, and they informed me that there should be nothing from their end, which would result in this problem.. So no, it has not yet been fixed.
  4. Update: I got a new router, and everything worked fine. I could access their website, and I downloaded the game. I played the game for a 30-40 hours at this point, without having any issues, but now it has returned. I have 0 clue, as to what has triggered it, as I have not been ingame for the last couple of weeks. I get the error whenever I try and boot the game through the GTA MP launcher, as well as when trying to boot up the single player game.. And as well as last time, I cannot access the social club website.

Certainly would be nice. Maybe it would show the red AFK if people are tabbed out, or if they have been gone for X amount of time.
  6. Fair - I know in the suggestion rules, it says to not post suggestions, that has already been forwarded. But using the forum search function, I seemingly was not able to find this suggestion. How else can you check, if something has been discussed/forwarded, if not with the search function? Just curious, as to not repost a ton of stuff in the future.
  7. Good luck, despite whatever ooc turf problems have been going on.

I'm pretty sure he means that /isafk cannot be abused. But your point is, that people can use scripts to keep getting paychecks.. Well, what is stopping people from doing that right now? I don't see that anything suggested in this post, would increase that problem.
  9. +1, don't think there is anything to discuss.

I can certainly agree. I just don't see any obvious solutions, and of course people should be able to go afk for a brief time. I'm just saying in certain situations, it would be an advantage to have this sort of ability, rather than not having it. And it's not really going to be something you can abuse. Unless people would rather not want others to know, if they are afk or not.
  11. I couldn't find this being posted anywhere, so I guess I'll try. Let me know if we've been through this. Ingame ID's are 4-6 digits long (I believe), and it can sometimes be a hassle, when writing PM's. Usually there are no more than 100 people online, so can't we use 2-3 digit ingame ID's? Would be easier to remember the IDs of people in game, and would make for quicker conversation/actions, where an ID is required. Also, let's say there is only 1 person named Tom, in game. If I do /pm Tom [msg], /whisper Tom, etc. etc... could this be made so it would actually execute the given command? And if there are more than one example of the name "Tom" currently online, it would just give me an error.

Well, you're taking time away from the admins. They are most likely going to be very much busy with other things. This sort of solution, could help prevent these situations, even before they happen. And if you have a screenshot of someone being active, while you're holding them at gunpoint, you'll have more than enough for a forum report, if they don't RP back. If you can see they are AFK, even before robbing them, then there won't be any awkward situations, as described previously. This would just free up some administrative duties, if people use the command accordingly. And I don't really appreciate your attitude in this discussion. It's as if I have to agree with you, or you get triggered. But maybe that's just me misreading something.

Fair enough. What do you see being the downside to this? I believe I've stated a couple of situations where this would be useful. I guess the thing we need to make this an actual discussion, is for someone to state some negative effects of this tool. I'd love to hear those, seeing as I can't really come up with anything myself.

Sure, that's pretty simple. From experience from previous servers, people do tend to "act" as if they are AFK, if they for an example, are suddenly being robbed. This can sometimes lead to akward situations, where you may be holding a person at gunpoint, who is not responding. While waiting for them to come back, anything can happen really.. You can be spotted by the cops.. His friends could suddenly come around, etc.. This would be an easy tool to determine if whichever target you may have, will or should be responding or not. I know we shouldn't need these tools, if everyone is mature about losing items/wealth, but that just doesn't seem to be the case, from my previous experience.

You have no interest, in knowing if a person is AFK or not, when you engage roleplay with them?
