  1. Tbf the only thing that's a little nuts is paying to boost your server app to the top. but if people really wanna spend money to save an hour or two? go for it lmao.

Ultimately this is a game, whilst the server can have its glitchy moments it's still come a long way with advanced web based features, a large dedicated and likely expensive host and development staff which i am convinced likely work close to full time hours trying to code for some of the recent reworks.

Yes, some instances like the /bad pay wall can be an inconvenience and I won't lie when I had to run a business it infuriated me. But its not impossible to find a solution around, hiring people who have it can create a sort of IC economy of its own. the other time is when you wanna enjoy playing other video games for 3-4 weeks and need to buy vip to lower those activity requirements. but thats legitimately a premium feature and I have no issue with it being behind a paywall. (i absolutely do wish they'd allow us to BUY that perk individually without the rest of the donor perks tho. like i just wanna invest a significant amount of time into other games without feeling "punished" for not dedicating that time here. or having to constantly fill out inactivity requests with PM.)

  2. I'll drop this here, but please have the place warning that its outdated information. But since discussions steered to pricing, the old system I was discussing during my time as head was a 4 tier insurance system. With the highest amount the player would ever pay would be between 10k-20k depending on injury. 20k would be the complete service with prolonged bed stay. Expensive? Yes. Prohibitively? No if you get insurance OR if you RP'd homeless and could be given an exemption depending on political will (ahahaha good luck). But given the primary clients are generally either cops, who can afford it. or drug dealers who need to launder but still could also afford it.

The new administration may look to take a softer or harder approach, but that was roughly where discussion got too in 2022.

As for fixing the bridge between treatment and understanding. Whilst not mandated I encouraged players to do (([Healthy Ranges])) at the end of their request lines of RP / on their /do's. This can be automated by adding a cmd players could use upon entering the downed state that ELI5's all the basic medical concepts they're likely to be asked prior to being asked.

DMEC should be a division within PHMC, and the coroners should be PHMC's alts. It's too often to see DMEC inactive with PHMC; it's too sad. Both use a direct manual, and their interest is pretty shared; while one saves lives, the other deals with the deceased.

We can improve PHMC's and DMEC's activity by migrating these factions together, making DMEC a PHMC division; the primary faction will still be PHMC.

I've roleplayed as one of DMEC's executives for a while, and we struggled to keep it interesting. The RP remained the same - you get to a scene, you deal with a deceased who cannot roleplay with you - it's all passive, you try to roleplay with the LEOs around and they're clueless, it's rare to have something interesting. Therefore, people leave, and the faction faces issues with players.

As far as I know, PHMC's players have little knowledge about medical roleplay like all other players in real life (with all due respect and without saying they don't know, they do know - but let me explain); PHMC, FD, and DMEC have their tutorials and internal training for new faction members, they all use the same methods, they asking questions and followed by the answers they can roleplay accordingly. I believe DMEC personnel will find it interesting to roleplay as nurses and paramedics, all along with responding to coroners' calls once in a while, as it happens, once in a while.

oh the amount of times that's been tried its almost hysterical at this point.

As the former Deputy Head of Hospital on LS-RP (both on SAMP and rage) I find hospital roleplay on World to be extremely lacking in terms of organization. For example, on LSRP we had PHMC under ooc control of the LSFD which gave hospital staff a direct link to FD for assistance with things. ICly the hospital was independent of LSFD but OOCly we worked close together to provide a seamless experience from pre-hospital to hospital.

Maybe some folks from PHMC can enlighten me. But I haven't been interested in going back to hospital because if I'm being honest? I didn't know PHMC was an actual hospital faction til around a month ago and I feel it needs a lot more exposure. Whether that's through putting it under juri of FD oocly or just advertising more.

no. As Deputy Commissioner from LSRP LSFD at the time we kept having the debate of keeping All Saints or scrapping it. Having both entities separate was always the plan. Both entities here work far better being on their own.

Gonna put this out there as I havent seen much mention of it from my skim but don't just view medical RP as hospital/emergent care. When there's a whole pharmacology sector to back up PHMC. You want realism? Let people start producing medical grade opiates and actually consider how LEGAL factions can massively help out illegal factions by the intermixing of drug scripts. The example I use here will be on marijuana because im still angry to my core about what went down in 2021. Once again by having legally sanctioned drug production factories and capabilities, you open up both the illegal market to a major increase in supply and quality which can be cut and spread freely without as much reliance on drug labs under chicken shops. You open up an avenue of illegal RP into mainstream legal RP by opening up the main avenue of every day irl citizens experience with the criminal underworld, sweet sweet drugs. Those factories supply the hospitals/fd/clinics and half of the cities illegal demand. Same can go for the opiate script. Where users could both use the aforementioned industrialized RP to create modern day street drugs like Fentanyl.

PHMC will never be the next SADCR or TTCF, it won't be a Rockford plaza style attempt at an RP hub. I can't speak for the current administration of PHMC as I retired months ago. But if you want to see a PHMC more widely utilized, think outside the box on what hospitals represent in our current societies. Both the cure and the creators of modern problems.

Also on the topic of privatized EMS services, the idea itself is not bad. But the very small 1% minority of medical RP players who have a tendency to gate keep, belittle and otherwise detract from the widespread enjoyment of those providing EMS whilst claiming to be hardline enforcing absolute realism. If that issue can absolutely be avoided by LFM, I could see it being successful and working well.

Edit- Gonna expand here on what I mean with the first and second paragraphs.

To understand why concepts like illegal and LEO RP gain popularity on the server, I believe falls down to the general simplicity behind picking up a spot in the faction and learning. It's not really until the later ranks when you have to really be on it with exact details of American caselaw, civil rights law and other combining factors which build up LEO RP. But with Medical RP, there isn't a grace period like that. Yeah majority of what PHMC does, at least in the internal medicine category can be achieved with googling what symptoms lead to what conditions, warning signs etc.. whilst following the guides we've written based on procedure. For a newbie to medical RP, someone not confident or otherwise.. well that shit's daunting for the players. It's why in my tenure as PHMC's head I took a very aggressive stance on those I saw guilty of gatekeeping and shutting out those who wanted to try medical RP but weren't great initially at it. PHMC never truly grew to prosper under my leadership, but a solid foundation and a stable foundation was created for the new leaders to take it in a whole new direction which they have been.

I know medical insurance is being discussed for implementation once again which is a good sign of features to come.

Comment (optional): - No surprises the utterly useless Republican-led Senate, who can't even pass bills to finance themselves, refuse to help pay for our kids education too. Wonder where our tax dollars are even going at this point, beyond senseless counter culture campaigns by our colossally incompetent Lt Governor.

  6. as a recent failed politician who plays a punching bag character as of late. yes.

politics on gta w..... its quite something. a theory we had (not democrats but a group of mine helping with the campaign), a lotta the desire to be right wing rpers stems from this servers unhealthy obsession with hating on LGBTQ characters specifically. if you look at what the parties do (death sentences aside), they're not that different.

    Serious points below tho...

I've always held the belief if GTA W wants to expand its political rp, we need to roll the clock back on this idea of American politics we have in our heads. Politics shouldn't be a competition of who can fabricate the better lie, or who can smear enough crap against the wall of their opp to make even a monkey jealous. Political RP should be one area we take a smarter approach of how to integrate realism. America post 2016 is a circus show that really shouldn't be admired or aimed to be replicated. About a week after throwing my hat into the political RP race, I was hit with intense regret on an OOC level. For me the past election cycle had no enjoyment, it sapped my motivation to even bother to play. I'm not here to blame Nexus on that regard, he didn't start it.

Anyway, that's my two cents on my recent foray into political RP. Some may agree with me, some will likely clown me in their private GC's, its just something I've wanted to get off my chest.

    as for the original questions:

    1. irl im pretty in the middle. My views are generally on the mild social and economic conservative end of the spectra, I just cannot stand people making their entire personalities about hating groups which have 0 impact on them. I went Dem cause ahahahah u can't go independent and like fck would my char ever get along with the Republican chars given the events of July and prior.

    2. answered on 1.

    3. Me and my char are different people, whilst some aspects are inspired by people I've met and the way I've observed them act, the character itself was one I made to explore a particular theme and how that'd interact in a simulated world( with the exception of music taste, as im the player having to listen to it then you can bet your ass my chars music taste is my irl one. I aint listening to some weird shit, its a video game and I'm gonna take minor shortcuts to maximize my enjoyment like that 10 outta 10 times.). But I'd be lying if I didn't say some aspects of my political foray didn't affect me irl (A player got banned for doing some insanely stupid things in an attempt to just straight fuck w/ me.)

  7. whilst i adore this mod.... LC certainly imparted strong opinions within the community. some in deep support, others in deep disagreement. i dont see it as entirely beneficial to import this to GTA W, at least to the playerbase, other than to adore how amazing this map project looks.

Comment: Truly a great day for the patriots of this country and a sad day for the criminal sympathizers. Everyone wants to talk all this talk but have no experience out on the field regarding just how horrible these people really are. The only regrettable thing here is that the bill is not strong enough.

It’s a stepping stone in the right direction though.

Only truly bad people in this state are those with conservative ideologies.
