Alternative option: make /changechar change your ID. Then we don't need the timer, you can tell if someone intentionally /changechar'd because their number changed.
That workaround would actually be GREAT because it also prevents creeps from doing /id /id /id to see what alt characters you change to..

Personally I think it looks spammy but it's just extra self expression, people link their showcases & threads in it, etc..

Did you guys really try to justify cheating, by saying that if your character is a veteran they wouldn't have shitty aim so you're entitled to use an aimbot...
But people cried when they were going to give young characters a higher recoil modifier.

I have a possible workaround. Though I think mappers will always be in demand, because people love custom interiors, I know it'd suck to see your custom interior get shared around.
What if instead of being able to upload the XML, we add an option to "Store XML" which would export + save the furniture info within our UCP.Then you can sell the property or whatever you want to do with it, but the finished XML file is backed up/saved separately.
And then when you buy the "Move your furniture" option, you can select that XML from the "Source Property" drop-down if you have one saved.
That way it's limited to our own personal use and can't get shared around to devalue custom mapping.

Detailed Description
I'm proposing we mix 2 of the features we have right now.
(1) We can already export our current mapped interiors via the UCP. (It's disabled for now but I believe it will be back at a later date)
(2) Any time we buy a property that's already been mapped, the server calculates the existing furniture's cost for the purchase.So what if we were able to download our previous mappings, and then, if we have a use for them at a later date, upload them to the UCP for the property we want to use it on. This would take a minute or two to match the item IDs and calculate the furniture cost it would charge us. It could all be paid through the UCP.
If there's a concern that it would lag the server, maybe it wouldn't load into the world until the daily restart.
If it impedes on the profit from the 'Move your furniture' WP shop option, then maybe we could pay the same price to upload. Some of us can't use the existing WP shop option because we'd have to currently own BOTH properties that we want to move the furniture between. This suggestion is more of a "download it for free, and pay if you want to upload/reuse it later."
Relevant Commands/Items
None - this could all be done via the UCP. The same way we have 'Export property XML' we could have 'Import property XML and some function where it calculates the total furniture cost and we pay it via the UCP.
How will it benefit the server?
I know a lot of mappers have specific interiors they grow attached to. Sometimes it's a house, sometimes its a specific apartment layout. We're reluctant to sell the properties even if we no longer need them, because we "REALLY like that kitchen" or something like that. This would make it easier for us to sell any properties we no longer need, because we would be able to download the interior, and then upload it if we have a use for it later on. After all, even if it doesn't match the specific building we repurpose it for, we can map it to match, close off certain windows/doors, etc. It's no different than having a default Rockstar interior in a building, except since it's all custom, most of them can easily be modified.
I imagine this will be more useful for apartments rather than houses that have unique shapes, but it's worth the effort.
Also, some of us don't use the "Move your furniture: 500 WP" shop option because we would have to currently own both properties we want to move the interior between.
I would 100% buy that from the WP shop if it meant I could also upload a previous interior and simply customize what's necessary.-

I think it's all about matching the situation that you're in, and who you're RPing with.
In a crowded place, summarizing is good so you don't spam the chat. It's also easier to read quickly while everyone else's dialog is spamming it out of sight.In a one on one or a small group, people tend to match the effort, whether that means someone else tries typing more, or you try typing less.
That person in /b is just toxic. Can't fix that.

I had similar issues to that and would turn specific graphics settings down (Shadows, PostProcess, Water/Reflections, you can change all of these while you're IG without restarting.)
Open task manager and monitor it while you're playing. Is the CPU AT 100%? If so, it probably needs an upgrade and could be bottlenecking you.If the RAM/Memory is up there, then you should upgrade that also because 8GB is kinda low for the game if you want to play with less stutters..
The game might work perfectly on singleplayer but in Rage it has to load more data like every single property marker, outdoor furnishing, modded cars, faces/clothing, etc. -

Hunter & Thirst system - Most people are adamantly against this because it causes OOC disruptions. Have you played a server with this and seen how people keep like 10x chicken tenders in their inventory and spontaneously eat them when their hunger is low? Imagine you're in an RP situation with someone and they've forgotten to check their hunger/thirst levels - suddenly they're leaving the roleplay scene and sprinting out the door to find the nearest vending machine just to fix an RPG mechanic so they don't starve mid-RP.

Suddenly someone had to spend $7k+ re-doing outfits after an update/clothing mod pack update because they paid for more outfits slots. It affects people disproportionately on an OOC level.
Taxes - You already get taxed on your regular hourly paycheck. Business taxes would be cool to see IN THEORY. But in practice? Business owners already have so much to deal with when applying for a business license, getting their fire safety licenses, paying out all their staff, advertising, etc. Some businesses lose money on some openings. Vehicle taxes... well you already have to pay for insurance, and insurance on some cars can be HEFTY, and on top of that you already have to pay for vehicle maintenance every set number of miles.
Fuel and Oil - Those prices could see a hike. it wouldn't make much of a difference as an overall money sink, though.
The money sinks are there if you want to spend your money on things. There are tons of businesses that make custom items for you to buy.
But making it mandatory is difficult and unfair to some players depending on their activity level.-

So, honest question for people who do defend wearing masks excessively and have stories of walking into grocery stories with them and no one bats an eye...
Was this before the pandemic?
Or during/after the pandemic when they were normalized in public?
Because Covid didn't happen IC for that to have become normal to see.

There used to be OOC realism rules in place about using masks, and they should be brought back for people who wear them around 24/7 or troll/bait with them.
There are already ic consequences for not identifying yourself or being masked up in a business whose staff tell you to leave. That's not the problem.
The problem is people have 0 semblance for realism. They'll keep defending it by using music videos, gang documentaries, & IG live videos to justify wearing masks in public places like it's normal behavior.. it's not.
The only people I've seen realistically hiding their face would be..
- Halloween
- Bikers with helmets on
- People who wear masks for work
- Criminals committing crimes
- Rappers/thugs showing off and flexing for parties/pics/social media
Someone suggested there being an admin alert if someone's been wearing a mask for too long.. that might be the only reasonable way to fix it. If you're always in a mask, what are you actually RPing? And it seems like baiting if you walk into a normal business masked up, get told to leave, and escalate it even if you knew it would happen.

+1 There definitely needs to be an option to buy it as a blank interior instead of paying for the existing mapping. The command /sellallfurniture already exists so it shouldn't be too hard to have the same function run if you select to buy it empty.
After that, if you don't want the empty custom interior, you can request default interiors with an IG report.

The rule says that illegal factions can't use their own PF licenses to supply their group w/ guns. That rule put in when everyone could sell their PF guns. People were using it to supply their own gangs & circumvent needing a plug.
Now everyone has to contact FM and request if they can sell their own PF guns so that original issue is probably solved.
So yeah. I figured criminals could have PF licenses, they just couldn't sell the guns or supply their gang with it.
The FLD site does say that street gang members can't have one at all though.-

Maybe a fix for this would be to block namechanges if the character is in jail, unless it's a life sentence.
That way they have to deal with the short-term consequences, whether they do jail rp or go inactive on the character for the sentence, they have to wait it out instead of NC and go spam the same crimes again.

Completely changing and swapping the features of the property alarms is a slap in the face to anyone who already had one.
For example, WiWang used to display a blip to the LSPD, not the owner, and it had the quickest response time. Now it's neither of those things. 🤨
