Sewage Flood Hits South Rockford Drive

Photography by: Jethro Orlanes

A sewer pipe burst today and filled the streets with dirty water while leaving an awful smell everywhere. There was some workers to contain the flood and find out the cause of the accident. One worker claimed that it was not the first time this occurred and they were worried about it happening again.

He mentioned that the issue will be looked into shortly, but at the moment it is an untidy situation

Parole violation leads to Murder in Pillbox Hill

May 3rd 2025

By Kira VanZandt

A simple violation of parole led to a manhunt yesterday evening in Pillbox Hill.  Sergeant Greco from Special Enforcement Bureau and Department of Corrections Special Agent Cohen told LSI that Armani Brice was tracked via phone by his parole agent leading him to the Wisdahl apartment complex.  Brice was found leaving the complex with a female.  Upon knowing they'd been seen, the woman fired at the agents killing a bystander in the crossfire and prompting the agents to hit their panic alarm.

A final electronic trace placed Brice in his property after the shooting.  The complex was secured by LSPD officers, LSSD deputies, Special Enforcement Bureau as well as agents from the Department of Corrections.  Brice was found in his apartment without apparel when officers breached.  No one further was harmed and he was taken into custody along with the female who has yet to be identified.

Sheriff Department Patrol ambushed in Vinewood

May 6th 2025

By Kira VanZandt

Deputies took fire on Alta street in Vinewood while on patrol at approximately 10pm.  LSI arrived as the scene was still active.  Sheriffs pulled over and blocked off the intersection of Alta and Vinewood boulevard and fired upon several gunmen.

SD's Sergeant Cooligan confirmed one Deputy was treated for minor injuries on scene, and all four of the gunmen were slain.  Investigations are still underway as to what prompted the attack from the would-be assailants, while some are speculating they may have believed themselves about to be arrested and decided to get the jump on law enforcement.  Deputies were unable to comment as to whether the shooters were carrying any illicit material outside of the firearms they used in the attack.  Be on the lookout for LSI updates as more information may become avaiable.

EMS Crews put to the test in Legion Square

May 29th 2025

Photography by: Kira VanZandt

Two separate incidents needing medical care happened simultaneously in Legion Square earlier this evening.  The scene was vibrant and many pedestrians were visiting food trucks and listening to music when an off duty police officer was identified by locals.  The officer was brutally attacked prompting a 911 call by onlookers.  Police and EMS arrived to render treatment and conduct an investigation looking for the attackers.

During the event, a car in an unrelated police pursuit going south on Elgin collided with a pedestrian's vehicle where a person was ejected.  A second rescue unit was called to give aid and the area was blocked off.  Both crews treated each patient at the same time as bystanders watched.  The injured were taken care of on scene and transported not far to Pillbox Medical for further care.

Elusive Driver finally arrested on South side.  LSI Nearly Assaulted by Bystander on scene.

June 14th 2025

Photography by: Kira VanZandt

Both Sheriff's office and LSPD engaged in a pursuit earlier this evening all over the north side for a suspect driving a high-performance sports car.  A call went out for mutual aid as both agencies followed the suspect south toward Davis.  Seeing the sheer number of police on his tail, the driver made his way to the LTD, abandoned his vehicle, and desperately tried to escape to the nearby housing on foot.  Police wasted no time in apprehending the suspect and called for a rescue unit in case there were any injuries.

During the stop, and completely unrelated, a separate vehicle drove toward the many cruisers blocking off the road as the ambulance arrived.  The car approached too quickly and, after trying to swerve to miss parked vehicles, took out a lamp post alongside the street.  Seeing an L.S.I. reporter taking pictures of the incident, the driver exited the vehicle with a metal baseball bat and aggressively approached.  Police quickly intervened to ensure there was no incident.  Los Santos Insider would like to take a moment to thank the men and women of the Sheriff's office and Police department for their continued efforts.

Arrest on Grove Street leads to tense standoff between residents and Police

June 15th 2025

Photography by: Kira VanZandt

It began as an all-too-common sight in Los Santos, an arrest in Davis.  Sheriff's department deputies took a young man into custody after a foot pursuit and checked him for contraband.  The scene evolved into a spectacle for local residents, as many of the locals took to the street to witness the arrest.  It didn't take long for tensions to begin to simmer between the deputies and the bystanders.

The police formed a line akin to a human shield between the onlookers and the deputies conducting the search of the suspect.  Eventually, the Department's helicopter was called in to monitor the situation and keep it's high powered light on the area.  Words were exchanged between the two groups as the loudspeaker from the helicopter gave orders for the citizens to disperse from the area, only to be ignored.

During the search, police who looked to be part of the department's Special Enforcement Bureau trapped a sports car with a separate, unrelated suspect between two of their SUVs.  Deputies armed with heavy weapons dismounted to approach the vehicle as their megaphone's instructions conflicted with the instructions from the air unit above.  As the deputies attempted to approach, the driver hit the gas and pushed one of the SUVs back before pulling a U-turn and giving chase to the police.  The units quickly got back into their vehicles and a chase ensued all over the city.  A source within the department confirmed that the car's driver and passenger were eventually stopped and brought into custody.
