Signal jammers are extremely expensive to make and are estimated to be around $50 000 in value. That means you must be sure to get back that value when doing a breakin, which is clearly not often (if not never) happening. It'll be very rare to see and be made to target high value houses / stash houses.

Some of the wording in the original post is confusing then and there's still a lot of ambiguity / information missing. The way I read the original post is that any player can make up to 5 signal jammers a week, if that's the case unless it's just due to a lack of available info I don't see how it's going to take long before they're super common, especially with 100 choppable cars spawning.

I'm still unsure if "A limit of five vehicles per day has been imposed on the chopping system to avoid unrealistic chaining of thefts." means that a single player / faction can chop up to five vehicles per day, or if a shop can only chop up to 5 cars a day, or if its even that 5 chops a day can happen period across the server, it's ambiguous.

sick update. if there is indeed any issues with jammers being used for property break-ins, then perhaps in the future we could see it only work for certain alarms. usually signal jamming would only be done if the burglar had done their homework on what system was in place, as a lot will simply trigger when jammed.

imagine either the 5 per chop shop per day will be increased, or we'll see more chop shops as some are used by multiple different groups

The jammers are costing a lot of components, we're talking about approximately 5-6 cars worth of chopping, and multiple electronic kits. In case it becomes too common in the first week even with such a high requirement then we'll remove it / decrease the amount that can be created per week, it won't be a problem. It's not like everything is set in stone, we have to balance values.

Will there be a more in depth explanation on the vehicle chopping once it's released, if not now?

Do you break into the NPC vehicles as if it were a normal one? Is there a way to differentiate? How often do these cars reset, if they reset at all? Do we just take it to any garage  to chop it or specific ones?

Perhaps if they were only obtainable through IFM requests or something ... it doesn't matter how expensive they are to craft, because with the new chopping system it is likely their price will plummet once a lot of car thiefs are chopping but not using the jammers themselves, so electronic parts will be cheaper and cheaper as the stock rises.

But like you said, we don't know until we try the system on the server and let it run for 1-2 months. Looking forward to see if this leads to a more complex criminal RP.

It's an ongoing discussion with IFM
