May 27th 2023, the Fire Department were called to a burning vehicle in a parking lot in Little Seoul on Palomino Avenue, crossed with South Rockford Drive. After dispatching units and arriving on scene, firefighters burst into action, containing the fire initially to prevent the spread to nearby buildings. On the 27th of May 2023 at approximately 18:10 in the area of Little Seoul, the Fire Department was notified via our inter-departmental pager than an ongoing vehicle fire was happening. Engine Two and Engine Seven were dispatched and arrived on scene within approximately eight minutes. The Fire Departments firefighters battled the burning vehicle and prevented it from spreading to nearby residential complex. The scene was jointly managed by Office of the State Fire Marshal (SANFIRE) and LS County Sheriffs whom provided scene security.

Crews were released from the scene at 18:48.

SANFIRE were also able to provide a statement to Media personnel.

Deputy Fire Marshal Alex Jorgensen:

San Fire can confirm our attendance to a fire on Palomino Avenue cross Rockford Drive shortly before 18:10, Los Santos County Sheriffs were also in attendance.

On arrival, Marshals found a fully involved vehicle fire that had spread to a nearby bush on the road. LSFD were hailed over departmental and Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control and declared knockdown shortly after.

On LSFD completing overhaul, Fire Marshals began preliminary investigations on the site.

At this time, the Office Of The State Fire Marshal can confirm the incident as accidental in nature with no foul play involved having started due to a loose fuel cap and the presence of cigarettes on scene - Civilians are reminded to be mindful when smoking near flammable liquids and keep open flames away from ignitable sources.

With arrival under ten minutes, the fire was contained and handled rapidly, which undoubtedly made a huge impact to the overall severity of the incident. We commend the quick actions of the involved agencies in their efforts managing the incident.
