The Los Santos Police Department (LSPD) employs over 3,500 civilian employees in a variety of administrative, technical, scientific, and administrative support functions. The civilian employees of the LSPD work together with sworn officers in meeting the community's law enforcement and public safety needs.

There are over 150 civilian job classifications within the LSPD. Civilian employees are responsible for performing duties such as answering 911 emergency calls; staffing front desks in community police stations; collecting and analyzing evidence from crime scenes; collecting and identifying fingerprints; providing information to officers in the field; maintaining the Department's records; and preparing and administering the Department's budget.

All civilian employees are hired through the Civil Service process for the City of Los Santos. In addition to the application, some positions may require candidates to undergo and pass a qualifying examination or provide supplementary documentation as part of the selection process.

DUTIES

An Administrative Clerk performs general office work, which may include customer service, basic word processing, data entry, filing and organizing, and related work.

An Administrative Clerk regularly communicates with civilians and sworn personnel which involves answering phone calls, responding to emails, and processing records. They are responsible for maintaining accurate, up-to-date records that are organized and delivered appropriately.

This position plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the Department. They must be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work under pressure. Additionally, they must have excellent attention to detail and be able to prioritize tasks efficiently.

REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  1. Ideally: Six months of full-time paid experience in clerical work or retail sales;
  2. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and professionally;

Upon completion, they will be appointed to Administrative Clerk vacancies in the lower pay grade position. The annual salary is at the start of the pay range. DUTIES

A Criminalist searches for, collects, and preserves physical evidence in the investigation of crime and suspected criminals; examines evidence by means of physical and chemical analyses; prepares reports of findings; and gives expert testimony in court. At the highest pay grade, performs analyses of physical and chemical evidence of a nonroutine nature requiring advanced technology; and may serve as a head worker by providing training and supervision to criminalists working in a specialized field.

A Criminalist is subject to call at any hour and may work under unpleasant and adverse conditions, including high places, dangerous locations, and in proximity to dead bodies and biological and chemical hazards, in order to investigate crime scenes.

This position plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of the Department. They must be highly organized, possess strong scientific and investigative skills, and be able to work under pressure. The Los Santos Police Department's Legal Affairs Division is interested in filling positions for Deputy Police Attorneys on an as-needed basis.

DUTIES

Deputy Police Attorneys defend the Los Santos Police Department and individual LSPD personnel in lawsuits. Largely, the cases assigned to trial attorneys involve allegations of constitutional violations of the 1st, 4th, and 14th Amendments, claims of excessive force, false arrest, illegal search and seizure, or other violations of civil rights, but may extend to other legal matters. In addition to trying cases, trial attorneys are responsible for all pretrial phases of litigation, including law and motion, depositions and discovery, mediation, and frequent interaction with LSPD personnel. Litigation is primarily in the Los Santos County Superior Court.

Attorneys in the Los Santos Police Department are responsible for ensuring that the Department is adequately informed on all legal matters including case law and passed legislation, advising police staff on legal matters, acting on behalf of the department in court, assisting in contract resolutions, and staying up-to-date and involved in matters pertaining to the San Andreas State Legislature.

REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  1. Applicants must have a license to practice law in all of the courts in the State of San Andreas;
  2. Applicants must have at least three years of civil litigation practice in the Los Santos County Superior Court (See Process Note #6);
  3. Applicants must have significant trial experience (civil or criminal);
  4. Applicants must have demonstrated strong research and writing skills in complex areas of law;
  5. Applicants must have the ability to deal effectively with public officials, departmental personnel, and members of the public;

  7. Applicants must have strong oral communication and advocacy skills;
