Located at the Del Perro Pier on Red Desert Avenue, the public is no stranger to this establishment - as it has been passed down from owner to owner, the service has kept up its notorious reputation. Upon my arrival to the restaurant, I was greeted by friendly faces and a delightful smile including the Owner, Sebastian and Manager, Jerry who were welcoming every guest that came to try their delicious food. My guests and I were promptly led to our seating, where we waited to be served like every other eager hungry patron there. We did struggle to find proper seating as our party expanded from four people to six people last minute, and the only bigger tables were available by reservations only: so unfortunately, two of our guests had to sit across from us at a different table. Pictured: Main Floor Seating The layout of the building has not changed too much. The new owners have done some renovations but overall the buildings heritage has remained intact and maintains its famous layout. The seating arrangements are quite impressive with a variety of options to choose from. Big party? They got long dining tables with enough seats, plus more. Group of four? No problem. Just you and your date? They have you covered. While they are very diverse with the amount of seating they can cover on the spot, it is highly recommended to reserve a table when attending with 4+ people from personal experience. Once we got a menu from the waiter we could instantly see quite a variety of foods, primarily aimed at - you guessed it - Seafood. Their menu offers a variety of selections from Starters, Side Dishes, Specials, Main Courses, and Dessert. The restaurant itself along with the food selections are heavily influenced by Greek culture and ingredients. They even include their philosophy, "As our great poet Odysseus Elytis once famously said, if you deconstruct Greece, you will see at the end that what is left is an olive tree, a vineyard and a fishing boat. We may not be in the same land but we use those ingredients to create a unique seafood experience in our restaurant." Pictured: A copy of the Pearl's unique menu, and their philosophy As a personal choice, I went straight to a Main Course: the Red Mullet, grilled with vegetables, garlic, and mushroom powder. While not being too much of an exotic seafood person I certainly do like my fish, and have eaten Red Mullet on several occasions throughout my travels in the United States. The patrons with me decided to go for their own preference such as the Fish Soup, Octopus Tentacles, Shrimp, Oysters, and Truffle Risotto. For our drinks we have a bundle of selections, mainly Red Wine and Soda but there is plenty to choose from. Our food did take quite a long time to get ordered and received. The restaurant was packed and filled with hungry customers, something the staff were not expecting by the looks of it. This goes to show how many people anticipated their long lived seafood experience in Los Santos, and they were not shy to keep the Kitchen and Service Staff on their heels for hours. Regardless, our food arrived to us in the end - hot, fresh, and smelling delicious. The Red Mullet Main Course was cooked to perfection, and almost melted like butter in your mouth. The combination of vegetables, garlic, and the mushroom powder really gave the dish a delicious but unique taste - rather than keeping the mullet bland and generic. The first bite was like Christmas in July; and I certainly had to go back from more. Out of all of the dishes I've tried around the Country, this was by far the best Red Mullet I've tasted to this day. The only thing I thought that could be done better was the vegetables, perhaps be given the option for softer vegetables and seasoning - but that's just me being picky, in the end everything tasted great. The Red Wine was superb, and my fellow patrons enjoyed their drinks. Overall, the establishment was classy, modernized, and offered a unique dining experience. The seating arrangements were more than enough to appease customers. The food was beyond excellent, despite having a long wait time. When one of the Owners, Sebastian, found out we were waiting on our food longer than anticipated - he made sure to get right to it, and our food was brought out promptly shortly after. Another owner living up to previous legacy owner expectations and standards, something you have to respect. Pictured: Sebastian, Owner (left) with staff and a patron While my experience was satisfactory, shortly after, two of the most successful business women in Los Santos and their guests got a first hand experience of the local seafood, inspired by Greek culture. Cecila Rodriguez, and Ashley Hendricks, two inspiring women thriving in the business sector of Los Santos, were absolutely pleased with their private event from the service, food, and the look of the establishment impressed not only them, but their attendees as well. For transparency, these individuals do own their own media platform(s) and had zero consideration to how this review came out, although their opinion and success is duly noted to give a third party perspective of a notorious establishment under new ownership. "The place is very lovely! I went with some friends and one of them was allergic to fish and they were able to accommodate to their needs! The service was impeccable! Highly recommended! The staff is amazing, the food is great and the vibe of the place is AMAZING! The owner is very kind as well!" commented Cecilia Rodriguez, via Facebrowser. Pictured: Bundle of photos from the restaurant patrons, party tables, and kitchen staff It is rumored that their next private event to be hosted is for City and State Government Officials booked by a Morrison Bradley. A clear sign that businesses and officials are taking notice of the establishments growing reputation of fine dining, tasteful food, and a unique Greek inspired experience. I was crossed between giving my review a 3 or 4 star rating, primarily influenced by the food and great customer service. The food was beyond expectations and the hospitality offered by the staff was remarkable. The only downsides from my own experience was the extended wait time for starters, main courses, and drinks which was a clear sign of lack of staffing, totaling up to 40 or 50 minutes. In addition, two main courses were forgotten about (the guests with me) and had to contact Kitchen Staff to get it corrected, which was done promptly. Considering how hard it can be to find employees in general, that has to be taken into account - which I see Poseidon improving on as they continue to grow and thrive in the industry. We plan to come back to Poseidon's Pearl and provide a follow up review. If you're looking for a genuine seafood experience, definitely give this place a try. To help those that want to reserve private events or have more than 4 individuals, you can contact them by phone at #20000. STARS: 4/5 Edited March 20, 2023 by Krisseh 6 Link to comment
