atomstodin
Detailed Description: Currently, for law enforcement officers working homicides, crime against persons, burglary, or any other crime needing CCTV footage to convict or build rapport on suspects is really hard. If we're working a homicide we have to hope that the victim has footage of the shooting (if it happened in public and near CCTV cameras) or a detailed /do that would help us during the investigation. In real life, there are cameras everywhere, from houses near the shooting, to stores, buildings, and even CCTV cameras on the street. The current rule, as far as I know, is that you have to have a CCTV camera in place as a prop in game for admins to grant you CCTV footage. Wouldn't it be nice to have a script where, similar to the bug system in houses, that stuff gets logged on a database that you can access when roleplaying around the map, such as 24/7, or, with permission from house owners that grant you CCTV logs? As mentioned, it would work similarly to the bug script where stuff gets stored on a database, for example, the UCP. And when you want to access the camera's CCTV footage, for example at the 24/7 store, you walk in there and request logs from the cameras, which would be some sort of roleplaying procedure. Now, I'm not a developer, but, if at all possible, the CCTV logs would describe cars that would show in the camera's POV, what color it is and, the license plate. To avoid hardcore powergaming when it comes to license plates, the logs could be modified by an admin so we'd get two similar license plates, for example, a Q would appear as an O in the logs, or a 7 would appear as a 1. Possibly having a similar system with break-ins, having an admin oversee you grabbing the CCTV camera logs, and then they'd modify it to give us a disadvantage. Relevant Commands/Items /accesscctv or any other Y menu addition to getting the logs sent to you. How will it benefit the server? Realistically, if police were to work a homicide case they'd get CCTV camera footage from all around the area. Currently, it's incredibly difficult for law enforcement to build cases of homicides or any other crimes in public, and having a CCTV script would make it more accessible for law enforcement. 7 Link to comment
csx
I think a script was being worked on before, needed and would be used daily. Link to comment
Rohan.
I believe there was a script in development (looked like it almost finished) back in 2022, hopefully they can implement it soon. It was poggers. +1 for the idea tho, really needed for investigative rp which is really just dying 1 Link to comment

sparky
Why don't we just change the rules to allow CCTV to rped where it would realistically exist? It's kinda crazy how crime can be commited in broad daylight but we cant do shit because there wasnt a cctv in central LA Link to comment

Or simply just do what LS-RP did and have a set list of CCTV in non-disputable locations (ie Legion Square, Junctions etc etc) that is available to everyone. 1 Link to comment
