LOS SANTOS COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT HOSTS ACTIVE SHOOTER DRILL AT UNIVERSITY OF LOS SANTOS

 

The fundamental duty of all sworn personnel is to protect life and property. As part of a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of students and staff it is essential to provide ongoing training to ensure deputies, security officers, and responding outside agencies are proficient in handling tactical incidents, with officer and public safety as the primary goal.

On Saturday, September 24th, personnel from the Special Enforcement Bureau, Davis Sheriff's Station and Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station took part in a joint training with the Los Santos Fire Department's Tactical Emergency Medical Support Unit and the Los Santos University's Department of Campus Security.

The exercise covered the approach of an active barricaded shooter on the premises of the University of Los Santos. Deputies played through various scenarios including efficient active shooter localization and targeting, situational awareness and immediate casualty care.
