Jolagh
Fire Rocks the Hills By Troy Francis _____________ The Los Santos Fire Department received a call from a concerned citizen at 9:21pm this evening about a fire in Rockford Hills. Four emergency response vehicles, Rescue Engine 3 (typically used by the Urban Search and Rescue Division), Brush 7 (Wildfire specialist apparatus) as well as Engine 7 and a EMS vehicle were dispatched to a small park on Dunstable Drive, to be confronted with quite the scene. Firefighters swiftly rushed into action and managed to get the fire under control. Thankfully, there were no injuries and no property was damaged besides some minor charring of the grass and a nearby tree. San Andreas State Fire Marshall’s have subsequently confirmed that the fire was not an arson attempt, but a wildfire, ‘It's a fire by natural causes. 'We believe it's due to recent high temperatures low humidity, and abundant dry vegetation. And of course, the lack of recent rain. The park didn't seem well maintained.’ It seems perfect weather conditions, combined with a poorly maintained park, were the root cause of the fire. However, in the aftermath questions should be asked of the Department of Public Works. Whilst they cannot control the weather, they are responsible for the maintenance of the city’s parks and green spaces, so why is this not happening, when as tonight has shown, the consequences could potentially be life threatening? Griz
Username: The Hills Have Eyes Comment: Drought? High temperatures? That park's sprinklers run ALL NIGHT LONG, EVERY NIGHT. Am I the only one who is observant enough to know this? Don't try to monger fear with this article. Someone set that fire; the State Fire Marshal's should look a little deeper. They should put in more work for the salaries they're given by we, the taxpayers. Edited July 7, 2022 by Griz 2 Link to comment
