Suxen
San Andreas Republican Party Chairman Condemns The District Attorney 6/24/2022 The Republican Party chairman, Jonathan Spencer, publicly condemns Senator Benson's actions, as Senator Benson announced on June 23rd that he intends to oppose the Preservation of Life Act of 2022, according to Benson's latest press release "in order to prevent the State of San Andreasen from enacting a law that would significantly restrict abortion access and women's health services." A brief overview of Senate Bill 95, the Preservation of Life Act; it is an act relating to abortion, including abortions after the detection of an unborn child's heartbeat; and it authorizes a private civil right of action. "The legislation prohibits abortion procedures if a fetal heartbeat is detected (after six weeks), preventing a woman from making choices about her pregnancy within the first trimester. The legislation is currently unconstitutional, violating the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution and Section V paves the way for frivolous lawsuits against providers.", Senator Benson said in a statement. "It's quite shocking for me to learn that Senator Benson has decided to oppose the bill, as not long ago, we had a meeting regarding the bill and he expressed his support to me in person, not only that, but he went as far as co-sponsoring the said bill, I truly believe that Benson's decision to overturn the bill was motivated solely by emotions, and being motivated by emotions as a politician demonstrates a weak mindset, this move on behalf of Senator Benson is a breach of our party’s trust, motivated by brownie points and emotions rather than logic and morality." Chairman Spencer also stated: "Senator Benson, of all people, should know the most, having called the bill unconstitutional when I know very well that the law will be extremely difficult to challenge in court due to its unique enforcement mechanism, which prohibits state officials from enforcing the law and instead authorizes private individuals to sue anyone who performs or assists in an abortion. This is an insult to the party; we put equal effort into drafting this bill, and we understand our constitution far better than he appears to. That is not the proper way to approach such a serious issue, which is gradually becoming a political stunt driven solely by emotions. Not long ago, Senator Benson had wanted to impeach the current standing President Pro-Tempore so he may propose himself for the position in a private meeting with GOP Executives. Party leadership was and still is against this idea due to the inherent undermining that it would have against senate history and authority, usurping fair process with power seeking shenanigans. Suffice to say GOP Leadership had been able to defuse Senator’s Benson’s lust for power and denounces his emotional head games in our political climate.
