Remove "good cause" requirement for CCW, following SCOTUS ruling

The key reasoning on why we should keep good cause is to prevent just that, vigilantism, where someone can easily get a legal firearm intentionally driving around with the intent to 'save' people. It's happened, and it was previously a serious issue hence the introduction of the good cause in the first place.

 

The good cause is there so people who actually can justify having a CCW, get one. It's difficult, and that's what the intention was. 

 

It shouldn t be difficult. This is the most dangerous city on earth. It makes no sense and is clearly just an OOC restriction.

It doesn t gatekeep anything, you can get an illegal gun far faster than a legal one. There s a reason most reports are on illegal gun holders

Sounds like an IC issue with LEOs not fighting gun crime harder?

 

Whats your solution give every legal character a gun? Whats to say that legal character turns to crime? It already happens with PF/CCW owners, it would likely worsen if an application isn't warranted. LSPD FLD is worth their weight in gold and a tracking of firearms is necessary. Even for a game.

I'm not just talking about ccw.

 

And no it doesn't just take 5-10 minutes, you gotta spend a good 30 minutes making up a good sob story atm to get a ccw

 

And for people who still keep using the "But people will get more guns if we allow it"

 

No they won't, people already have flipping PF licenses.

It's an infinite supply of legal firearms (With monthly restrictions). The point is, you get caught with a legal gun, there's no issues, you get caught with an easily accessed illegal firearm, you get into a bunch of trouble.

 

Legal firearms are meant to be difficult to obtain, to prevent abuse as well as suitable people obtaining them who don't have the intent to play superhero.

OK seriously, people need to read this thread or stop responding here when they clearly have no idea what they're talking about. THERE IS ALREADY AN INFINITE SUPPLY OF LEGAL FIREARMS. All it takes is filling out your contact information on a PF form, ANYONE can do it unless you have a criminal record. Every single person on this server is 5minutes away from having a gun they can blast people with. NOBODY is talking about the purchase firearm license, we're talking about the ability to legally carry a concealed firearm. Make your own topic if you want to argue that PF's are too easy to get or that there are too many legal firearms in circulation. This is a CCW discussion.
