no thanks, some stuff can last hours and in those scenes it doesn't make sense for the time to change so drastically.

Most roleplay scenes/scenarios rarely last 6 full hours. Even then, it isn't unrealistic for time to change when you're engaged in other activities. Especially during the winter with the short days, I swear I've walked into buildings with it bright outside and back out when its pitch black and it has only been 3 hours.

The big difference is:

These are individual examples that, while technically also conflicting with continuity, don't affect the bigger picture, only those involved in the respective development.

June 17th, 2022 is June 17th ingame for everyone, and june 18th that- regardless if a few people rp aging up or giving birth or die tonight.

Establishing a sped-up circle would either demand us to adjust the general time to pass faster ingame (including the calendar progressing faster), or an explicit verdict by staff stating that every calendar day happens 4 times (to keep ig dates in line with irl ones despite effectively 4 day circles passing ingame).

Thanks but no thanks, causes more issues than it solves

You are assuming time will have to be sped up.
What people are suggesting is still 1 rl day = 1 rl ig day.

YOU would notice NO difference. Most Europeans would notice no difference.

Night will fall at 7pm as it always have. Clubs will open 8pm to 10pm as they always have. Day ends at midnight like it always have.
Only those awake at 3 am will see the sunrise.

i'm not so worried about immersion, but this would create serious continuity issues long term.

Would we treat one day as three from now on?

How many irl days pass in a week?

Is irl monday ig monday?

Did Joe murder Jack a week ago or was it three weeks?

No thanks

You don't log in for 2 days straight and suddenly your character has gone missing for over a week.

Continuity is already tricky enough, why make it worse? That on its own can fuck heavily with immersion.

You can't speed day and night cycle up because some can't see the sun and some can't see the moon. It's well known that you can't roleplay 1:1 to reality, yet this doesn't justify such changes in a roleplay environment. Yes we see a killer being released from jail the week after a homicide, but this is part of the gamemode and you sometime gotta ignore these details to not ruin yours and others' immersion.

Server should adapt to the playerbase's timezone, not let us "live" two days in one because doesnt make a damn sense

IC dates already hardly line up with real life unless you are in Europe. People routinely need to recalculate time and, may I reiterate, nobody actually lives on a 1:1 scale on GTAW. People go to prison for days or weeks, not months or years, they stay in the hospital for minutes or hours, rarely days or weeks. We speed things up all the time to make things convienent for the roleplay in front of us and the benefits of speeding up the day/night cycle far outweigh the drawbacks if you only use your imagination a little. This would allow players in every timezone the ability to enjoy roleplaying both at night, and during the day. It would likely make outdoor activities more attractive since the scenary isn't concealed in darkness. All other complications created by this alteration could be easily overcome and wouldn't be any more immersion breaking than the fact we already host job interviews and conduct routine business in the middle of the night.

Changing the night cycle wont affect the times, dates or what so ever.

It basically means the following:

Sundown starts around 10-11PM

Fully dark around 0AM

Sunset starts around 4-5AM.

So you get longer daytime, shorter nighttime.
