The group have cut themselves a small corner of Little Seoul and rarely stray from their carving, electing to remain a small enclave within the superior Korean influence present in Little Seoul. Once a part of the formerly established Golden Tiger Gang. A street gang spearheaded by Johnny “Dogmouth” Ming, a powerful figure that acted as a connection between gang members and influential tong members and various Triad connections overseas. The group now having splintered off begins a new chapter under the reigns of Regninald “Lazy” Zhang. Free from their previous affiliations the group aim to quietly grow their network of connections in the criminal underbelly of the city. Black Tigers have evolved themselves from being a simple street gang due to previous influences from various authority figures that were acting as mentors, the reason for the splintering is relatively unknown however it is believed to be related to the disappearance of Johnny “Dog Mouth” Ming, and are now seen as an independent entity and free of any Triads or Tongs influence. A switch orchestrated by the group’s Dai Lo, Reginald Zhang and his loyal co-conspirators. Along with the switch comes a more hands on ruthless approach to earning money, ranging from drug dealing, home invasions, vehicle theft, illegal gambling and in rare cases murder for hire. Although the main focus is honed into illicit activity, it’s not exclusively illicit. A number of legitimate small businesses are documented to be owned by members of the community and those closely associated with Black Tigers, alluding to the idea that the group are diversifying into a broader range of ways to earn money. Confluenting within Little Seoul alongside the dominating force of Koreans, which is known to most as K-Town. The coterie of American-born Chinese (sometimes abbreviated as ABC) tend to keep to themselves, opting to avoid drawing too much attention to their presence. On the surface, those ignorant to the ABC coterie would label them a reclusive or anti-social group, not the type to play well with others. A trope earned because of their preference to keep a low profile to not draw the eyes of the law towards their shady activities. But those who already have ties with Black Tigers know they are very welcoming and open to cooperating to the benefit of both parties involved to find a mutually beneficial agreement that increases two things, money and power. The group currently have positive relations with the more established groups within Little Seoul and are always actively seeking relations with groups outside of Little Seoul that are more renowned and influential in the broader scale of the city. As long as it fits the narrative of increasing the betterment of money and power for the Black Tigers. OOC This faction aims to portray a realistic representation of a group that lies between street and organized crime now independent of any outside influence from its previous ties. As well as a small community of predominantly, but not exclusively, Chinese-American individuals. We welcome a variety of Asian characters who are interested in joining the faction, whether it be illegally focused or legally focused, we accept both in hopes to grow the community in the future to have either side flourish with one another as a single cohesive entity. Also to note we emphasize heavily on character development and hold members accountable to a high standard of portrayal.
