I am sick and tired of this server being so politically correct and catering to the most normie audiences. I want to roleplay in a realistic setting, if that implies that a school shooting is going to happen, then that's just what happens in the USA. This would most likely be punished by administrators anyways for being mass-DM, therefore I don't get why we are worried about school shootings happening.

My point still stands - who, cares? We would get shit from the media if people weren't so afraid to speak out loudly that they roleplay cute girls on GTA in their free time, but nobody does that. Most people keep it low key because they think it's a loser thing, and that's okay, because we don't get attention from the media.

Fuck media outlets, fuck social media, fuck anyone who dares step in here to tell me that what I am roleplaying is incorrect and sickening because something bad happened. I am NOT IMPLYING THAT I WOULD WANT TO roleplay a school shooting or anything else that is such a touchy subject to some people, I'm just saying this is LITERALLY JUST A GAME and anyone who takes it out to the real world to complain about how fucked up it is should go outside, touch grass and DEFINITELY get laid. This is entertainment like anything else, this does not have to be a politically correct thing. It can be brutal, thought-provoking and that is what makes it enjoyable.

 

If this server was not so PC, we would get more action that is actual roleplay. Because people are scared or lured away from anything even remotely politically incorrect, they resort to gunfights, brawls and e-sex for fun instead. Shit that gives you absolutely zero development in many cases. I am not saying that your roleplay has to be politically incorrect and offensive to be fun, but I am saying that shit like this is what occasionally makes things fun. And once again, shit like this happening in a fictional world could be interesting to see. I am not speaking about IRL because that's obviously rather wrong and sad, but we don't need to talk about that now. And let's not talk about that now because there is absolutely no need to derail the topic.

 

This is the single worst thing about this server - us being a community of losers, weirdos and niche roleplayers who want to have fun and don't give a shit about anything being offensive constantly getting silenced or outspoken by some "normies" who have never touched a roleplaying game before and are genuinely terrified of what could happen, in a FICTIONAL WORLD. It is almost ironic. These people come to us, join our GTA communities and then they're acting soooo fucking surprised that this isn't SIMS 4 roleplay in some utopian environment where crime does not happen.

Everyone, this is not an attack on people, if any of these sentences come off as an attack, I just want to state that this is indeed not an attack on anyone. This is just me letting my frustrations out because like I said, I hate the fact that this server is going to shit because it wants to be so politically correct. And then you can't have nice things because something bad might potentially happen. I bet my ass everyone else is as fed up with this as me.

Please let this become a thing and if shit happens, ban people who caused it. I agree that school shootings should be heavily moderated or not happen at all because it's mass DM at the end of the day, but let's also take a moment here to consider where the hell this server is going. If we can't even have a high school to roleplay in because people are scared of it turning into a shitfest, something is either seriously wrong or people don't know what roleplay server they signed up for.

 

 

 

Unfortunately whenever GTAW players a shred of something to work with, there are those who DO routinely seek out to abuse it and find loopholes. Whether that's through rules or rather a lack of clarification, or script abuse people will find a way to make a mockery of it. Do I have to mention BF400's? Criminals citing that streets are empty in a city that should have a 3m+ population? How about mining when that was a thing? Or people using casino's as a means of income? Or the fact that staff reports are overused as a potential get out of jail free card when they don't like the fact they were caught for screwing up? Sad thing is it sometimes works if they use the right words, or make enough noise.

 

It's a long, long list of things that players fuck up for others just so they can have their fun or get out of having to deal with consequences. For what it's worth, I agree. I wish it didn't have to be this way too. I wish players would just work together like mature adults so everyone can have fun and not purposefully go out trying to make people doing anything unique a completely insufferable experience for them. I've seen it happen repeatedly, someone opens a unique business or community focused project but they are immediately targeted by every extortionist in the city and inevitably burned down, or swamped by people who just want to make life difficult because it's fun for them. Or worse, noone turns up because their characters are hard and think 'it's dumb and boring af'. Small scale, one or two person projects don't last long because those who run them get demotivated because noone gives them anything to work with.

 

I think unfortunately it would be a very similar process for a school in Davis, noone would listen to teachers because that's below them as hardened criminals. It'd just be an extension of the streets, just with everyone in the same building. It'd be a palpable atmosphere at best IF there were no controls or regulations in place. It needs careful quality control, regulation and players actually willing to let it function as a school to have any chance. It can work though with the right people in charge like it has with the university, it might not be perfect but it shows what players can do together when they have a common interest. But if it's anything other than tightly controlled, I'm sorry but it just won't be fun for those running it or residents who do want to take it seriously.

I think people need to go into this with their eyes open about what a 'realistic' high school experience would be in gang territory.

If GOV want to open a high school in Davis, they've got to accept that it's not going to be an uptown middle class setting. If people want that kind of RP, then go to ULSA.

 

It would be completely unfair to the illegal community as well as unrealistic portrayal of gang characters to go to a high school and pretend they're suddenly middle class Americans who put all their beef aside and sit quietly in class listening to their teachers until the bell rings.

 

Davis High should be far grittier and far darker themed - and that's not necessarily a bad thing when exploring illegal RP.

 

In the real world, where there is heavy gang influence around high schools, there is heavy class-room intimidation by gang members, there are drugs and firearms sold around the school and there is violence.

 

You can expect that in GTA:W That would be the norm - and, it's not unrealistic for that to happen, in fact it would be unrealistic for it to not happen.

• Classrooms are and should be gang controlled.
• It would not be unrealistic RP for a gang members to get into a teachers face & intimidate them, it should be expected.
• It would not be unrealistic RP for a gang member to frequently fight and/or worse.
• Normal school kids would be in frequent fear and having their cellphones and dinner money taken would be the least of their worries.
• Bullying would be a norm, both of other school kids and teaching staff.

I do get that there would be some of that stuff going on, but it'd be a school not a damn zoo. Sure grittier rp should be supported there but there would also have to be limitations as to what's allowed, else it simply wouldn't be able to function as a school. Unless you want every class to turn into a brawl.

What people don't see or tend to forget about is, that everything on server is kind of a parody of itself. From traffic to schoolyards. High school might make sense, but everything Alyssa pointed out, will be prevalent, because people log in to have fun, not to roleplay school. I never said, don't do it. I only say it will be Davis LTD 2.1.3

How will it be Davis LTD 2.1.3 if its locked behind an application process just to even roleplay inside of it? Davis LTD is noob central because its a known spot for players coming from FiveM or GTA:Online and they see the amount of activity there and wanna go over there, or most of the time its just literal trolls and rule breakers that go there to provoke a shoot out and keep going with their day, then ban evade in 3 months when they get bored again, this would be nothing like Davis LTD if it's managed correctly. And even then, Davis LTD has seen less cringe shit in recent times due to dope factions like South Central, Los Santos / Grove St. Hustla Crips that have opened and actually tried to maintain the area from an IC perspective. 

 

Application process, backgrounds checks of records, viewing of past roleplay, etc, etc. would all need to be factors in order to roleplay in the school, it needs to be managed very well, monitored and supervised very well and taken seriously, some people might just wanna roleplay in classes, I know i would love to roleplay a geek ass kid doing his homework in school, and at some times people should be forced too the same way county rpers are forced to sit at their tables most of the days until theres a jail event, people will do the passive roleplay and people will do the reckless shit, but it wouldnt be world war three, if anything it would only be fights because there can be an IC blockade and checker at the front to make sure nobody brings guns inside of the school, unless they find a loop hole but they shouldnt be using guns in school anyway, makes no sense. I've seen / heard of people bringing guns to school and even they dont use them, they just have them for when they get out to ensure their safety.

 

This wouldn't be open to the public like Davis LTD, this wouldn't be un-managed like the LTD, this wouldn't be UN-CARED FOR like the LTD. This is something people have been routing for for a long time and all I can say is...give it a chance. If it goes wrong in the first month of a probation stage? Wipe the idea and ban it from ever happening on the server again. Everything on this server is always shut down so quick or frowned upon without even being given a chance. Maybe this will be everything people on this thread say it will be, maybe it will be the opposite of what I'm saying, but theres no way to find out until you

Remember scriptly, you can only be in a single faction and so gang players would need to drop their gang faction to join the high school faction if this course was taken.

 

We've had this problem when trying to run student internships and have our members join LSFD Lifeguards etc.

That's why we need the "1 char 2 factions" suggestion pushed foward.
