I'll let the website and wiki do most of the explaining but essentially it's a realistic survival experience with a long way to go in development, but already feature rich. I suggest checking the roadmap out on their main site below to see what is to come. https://www.vintagestory.at/ I specifically play in a community called Vintage Civ which offers a free form multiplayer experience. The goal is to let the players establish cities and cultures in-game and dictate the rules of the server, full scale PVP is allowed with minimal protections (no land claiming, just block re-enforcement).
