Today (April 12th) at about 4PM, the 36th Sheriff of Los Santos County has posted to his Facebrowser account the following:

Quote

We have our very own "swamp" in Los Santos - consisting of public officials who are free from accountability due to their positions!

Early this morning, Sheriff's Detectives conducted a prostitution sting on the home of a "Personal Assistant to the Assistant District Attorney". Said Personal Assistant texted undercover detectives, offering explicit sexual acts in exchange for cash.

Detectives responded to the location and arrested the Personal Assistant. An unnamed, unidentified off-duty law enforcement officer was also detained.

This morning, I have learned that the District Attorney has DROPPED the charges. Welcome to Los Santos, where you can run a sex trafficking ring, so long as you are connected! The law should apply to all of us, no matter our occupation, societal position, or personal connections.

#JusticeMatters #TruthMatters

An employee of the Los Santos County District Attorney's Office has been arrested and charged with prostitution. An unidentified off-duty San Andreas peace officer has also been arrested, in connection with this incident. The only details known at this moment is that the off-duty law enforcement officer was not an employee of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department (LSSD). The charges brought against the off-duty peace officer are unknown at this time.

The arrests were made as a result of a sting operation carried out by an LSSD Detective. The LS County Sheriff has also posted the following to his Facebrowser account:

Usually, in prostitution cases, entrapment is the issue with prosecution. This was not the case.

Ask yourself - would someone not in a position of influence be subject to this preferential treatment?

along with this transcript from the sting operation:

Shortly afterward, a petition for dismissal of charges has been filed with the Superior Court of Los Santos County. We've accessed the petition for dismissal.

While it is clear that a legitimate arrest has taken place, it is unclear as to why the charges were dismissed. The LS County DA has refused to provide any comment against those allegations at this time.

The scale of this case and timing seem interestingly convenient. Is all of this a part of the Republican election campaign? Are we dealing with a wide-scale human trafficking ring?

Updated 4/12/2022 6:35PM

The Los Santos County DA and the LS County Sheriff have engaged into some back and forth on their social media. We'll be providing insight into both side's statements.
At about 5:30PM the LS County DA Gary Mikalchuk has posted the following to his social media:

Quote

It has come to the District Attorney's Office's attention that a slanderous statement has been made by Sheriff Joseph Cline.

With that being said, the District Attorney's Office wishes to tell the real story, not the lies the current sitting Sheriff is stating.

An ex-employee for the District Attorney's Office got inebriated and 'pranked' a detective. After the detective learned that he was 'pranked', he subjected the ex-employee to mental and physical abuse, going so far as to hiding CCTV evidence from the District Attorney's Office that would've cleared the name of our prior employee.

After we were approached with this evidence, it was clear the charges against the ex-employee should be dismissed. There was no evidence of a sex trafficking ring and Sheriff Cline should be held accountable in civil court for these dangerous allegations.

Unfortunately at this time, due to on-going investigations, we are unable to release the evidence we have.

The District Attorney's Office would like to agree with Sheriff Cline in one aspect. The law should apply to all of us, no matter our occupation, societal position, or personal connections. The District Attorney's Office plans to hold all detectives involved in this scenario accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

No information or evidence has been provided outside of this rebbutal to the remarks Sheriff Cline posted earlier. The DA's office claims that the defendant in question (Leah Maxwell) isn't an active employee of theirs. It hasn't been clarified whether Ms. Maxwell has been fired only following this incident or prior to it. It is definitely quite of a career degradation, from an assistant to the Assistant District Attorney to a cheap-priced prostitute. This alone speaks volumes about the DA's office. It is also noteworthy that the DA's office claims that Ms. Maxwell has "pranked" a detective. Prank in no way or form is a legally recognized term, thus the question - Can an illegal act (prostitution or soliciting of such) be excused as a prank?

When questioned about receiving records of the employee in question, which is a legal right of any citizen in the country, was met with a deflecting reply that instead they could offer information about corruption inside the Sheriffs Department. Outside of deflecting from the question at hand, that could help bury improprieties and corruption in the District Attorney's Office; it instead offers a distraction that conveniently fits in line with their unfounded claims about the arrest of their possible employee and the Sheriff's Department.

If the District Attorney's Office knows enough about corruption in the Sheriff's Department to tell the public, why was this never raised before? Why has no action been taken by the District Attorney to combat this corruption? Why does this only conveniently surface once their office is under heat? If their claim here is true, they dually recognize they have not only failed in their duties, but also promoted the existence of corruption within state systems.

This report will be updated after more information is made available.
