Junta
THE PROSPERITY STREET CREW "The mob still exists" said Philip O'Hansen, senior council in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Las Vegas, Nevada, who has sent mafia members to trial and prison since 2001. He estimated up to 40 associates are active in the state of Nevada, down from 100 at their peak in the late 1980's. O'Hansen explained that mobsters today are struggling to make money. Legalized sports gambling and a crackdown on opioids cut into their traditional cashflow. Sweeping federal indictments in past decades decimated the mob hierarchy as members flipped to help law enforcement or went to prison. The controlling mob in Nevada is that of the Christian Noviello, also known as the Las Vegas Crew, which is a widely known Italian-American organized crime syndicate that controls organized crime activity in Las Vegas and surrounding areas of the state. The posse is a small branch of the American Mafia, or "La Cosa Nostra." Although not recognized as as an autonomous crime family due to the crime organization's connection to the main New York families, the regime and the reign of current "captain", Christian Noviello is slowly but surely setting the stage for this validation. The genesis of the outfit isn't entirely clear other than the gang's history in controlling casinos and the gambling districts of Las Vegas. 2014 was a violent year for the Las Vegas Mob, the FBI's Organized Crime Divison since declassified file on the Christian Noviello crew, a prominent arm of the Vegas Mob, details on the disappearances of at lease three smalltime underworld figures known to be affiliated with the crew. The murders remain unsolved, compounding this period of instability, the street boss of the mob, Dominic Marella would disappear by the end of the year. A reshuffle ensued in 2020, after the heavy scrutiny of the Federal Government and the netted indictments of several old-world heavy-weight mobsters who were suspected of having fused the ruling hierarchy of the Vegas Mob. Fast forwarding to the latter-day Vegas faction, it’s rumoured that the foundations of the family have been cemented by newly established underlings of the original ruling panel, including the notable Ralph "Popstar" Pagila & Peter "Patsy" Pollino and several of their core subordinates. On which they have focused their various operations in Los Santos, specifically Prosperity Street in Morningwood, in an attempt to restructure the organization through growth.
