Hey guys, if this thread continues in discussion of factions, it's going to be locked and archived. It's just faction bashing at this point with no constructive criticism, just pointless opinions to flame at factions they don't agree with. Continue with other topics.

That's crazy bro!

Not happening anymore

There are 21 unanswered forum reports right now and 9 of them are about dumpster-tier robbery RP/scamming. That's over 40% of all unanswered reports. The rest are about DM mentality but that's another discussion entirely.

its crazy how the players are always blamed for this server to get lame, if players do dumb shit like that they need to get punished but im not talking about a 15 min ajail. people get ajailed for 30 mins for vdming, looting dead bodies and insulting the admin. ofc people gone break rules cause the punishments are just way too fucking soft. worst that can happen to u is getting "perma" banned but yet u can appeal it in 2 weeks lmao just start banning people fr. id rather have 300 decent players around than 800 retards

Sir, this is the unpopular opinion thread. That isn't an unpopular opinion.

When newer players that got no previous RP experience or are coming from Fivem join the server they usually turn to illegal RP. They can't join any decent illegal factions because they are usually foreign and don't know LA politics n shit so they do it alone with other nooby people or factions. Bad illegal RPers can affect a lot of people with their "subpar" roleplay versus bad legal RPers who usually stick to RPing only with their close circle.

Sounds like there should be a mandatory minimum amount of time for a character to spend roleplaying before they can be allowed to participate in criminal activities. It'd definitely put a solid pause on the low-quality crime we see often, and it would put a new, tangible reason to avoid making throwaway characters.

I was all for the 40 hour mark, but people just want to dive into being a hardened thug within the first three hours.

It's a good idea tbh. It would also solve the age-old problem of people making new chars just to rob. Who receiving 5k/hour in government assistance would need to mug somebody for petty cash anyway.

Here's where it gets funny to the point of being physically painful - the original proposal was that a new character could not participate in crimes against other players for their first THREE hours. Three. Hours. That's not weeks, or even days. It was literally suggested as just. three. hours.

The criminal community threw an absolute tantrum over the idea. They insisted that if they had to wait three measly hours to commit crimes against people, in their words "iT wOuLd KiLl tHe cRiMiNaL cOmMuNiTy!" and other prophecies of doom and gloom, the same exact phrasing when staff decided to implement crime restricted zones to resolve the civilian character community draining into nothingness. Now, keep in mind, this wasn't a blanket ban on ALL criminal activity for those three hours. Oh no, it was specifically just criminal activity against other characters/players. That was it. If you wanted to sell drugs? You could. If you wanted to move guns? Power to you. Stealing parked cars, breaking into homes, even posting up to guard your turf was a-okay. It was specifically three. measly. hours. that you had to wait before your new character could kill, or rob someone else. That's it.

But, again, the criminal community couldn't stand that. People always talking about "tAkInG tHe L" insisted that any more rules were enforced against their criminal activities, the entire criminal community would leave GTAW.

What hurts most, is that it opened my eyes - these people couldn't wait even three hours without having to kill or rob someone. Three. Hours. They needed their fix of hunting down victims in a time frame shorter than three hours. It's no wonder the streets were almost completely empty of any civilian business/traffic by the time the GTAW staff decided to implement the crime-restricted zones.
