If voice comms are so OP ( I have no idea what RPG elements you're on about ) how come most crimes go unsolved?

Bottom line is that both sides have some major, major advantages, which in turn makes them balanced. You can't really complain as a LEO, you can't really complain as an illegal RPer. After all, this discussion is much, much more in-depth and goes beyond civilians refusing to go outside. It's much more complex, I'd say.

The problem is with thinking that illegal roleplayers should be on equal footing with the law. It's an arbitrary decision born out of bias that leaves civilians out. Which is why there's a mass exodus of civilians roleplaying in interiors now.

Absolutely. Criminals should be at an obvious disadvantage from law enforcement, but it shouldn't be as strict as it is in real life, even if it's realistic - we should be providing people on both sides of the law with equal fun on an OOC level, which is a factor that simply doesn't exist in real life - OOC fun.

The problem is thinking that you should be escaping the law once you're in a pursuit. Realistically how often does that happen IRL?

You ''win'' by not being seen committing the crime, not by brute forcing your way through 20 cops.

Which in return is a double edged sword. Crime and Law Enforcement is a cat and mouse game with new technology and advancement leading to new avenues and crime tactics resulting in a Law Enforcement response to tackle the new crime trends and closing that circle when new tactics arise. This dynamic is not found on GTA:W with little incentive for smart crime to begin with as it is laughably easy to get away with simply doing the pew pews or 'run your pockets cuh' on an open road at high noon with little to no risk of even being seen by any witness, camera or similar to begin with. So why think out a plan and take precautious steps or fearing state and federal agencies when the brute force tactic works just as fine with little planning and thoughts put into it?

The downside of that missing dynamic can be seen the most in investigative roleplay which honestly is worth its own "the state of" thread and discussion given the fact the standard of proof is equal, if not higher to real life - without the necessary infrastucture in forms of witnesses, cameras and technology - due to the overworked DA office only accepting clean cut cases and unwilling to actually 'fight' in courts, eagerly dropping charges and making plea deals to quickly wrap up cases whilst your Detective is heavily reliant on player-to-player interactions to gather information of crime scenes and the likes whilst also having to play investigator both in and out of character, proving each and every statement and fact with OOC evidence with LFM breathing down their neck and metagaming accusations to then have their month long OCG investigation voided by 90% because one of the three script features for your roleplay has been deemed as OP or broken. The infamous detective burnout is a real thing, and is the pinnacle of LEO roleplay feeling like a chore more than it does a job to your character or source of good roleplay interactions with all the OOC fuckeroo, back to back shootings, city-wide snitch culture and Davis (M) Agent Fuck 12s,  getting shit on and shrugged off as "oh, you got all these fancy tools and VoIP" whilst most crime is a make or break with one being caught red-handed or never to be seeing a jail cell from the inside. It makes people quit the faction and server as a whole with the at times incredible workload, unappreciated efforts and the latter changes on top with no betterment in sight as everything - valid or invalid - LEO related in a public suggestion or discussion is instantly shut down. LEO roleplay is more than just doing the pew pews from the other side and wee wooing across town to chase yet another sports car or four deep armed (M) sedan after a blockwipe, but is always pushed in the corner of "Oh LEO bad this and that" and "Oh LEO OP with infinite guns, VoIP and their 4k car mods breaking the server!!!!!1111".

OT: The server has an overall roleplay quality issues across the board, but is more noticeable when it comes to crime than it does to everyday activities or two consenting parties doing the ERP in some private apartment. Factions do a good job to uphold a certain standard and place gate keepers on lolplayers. There are incredibly good and incredibly bad out there, found in any roleplay avenue and one can usually distinguish between whom to interact with and whom to avoid. ERP character #2141 is easier avoided and less likely to force their roleplay upon you than ebanger #6122 telling you to 'run your pockets' which leads to the focus of discussions being shifted to those ebangers rather than your low quality civilian ERP character. Regardless, for both the same rules apply and if they are broken or their portrayal is abymal which both can be forwarded to the appropriate instances.

For real. It should be an exception to get away with a sloppy crime, not the norm.

Careful. You’re going to get all the alt forum accounts with no posts to come on here to insult you and call you a dirty Erp’er in order to distract from the real problem.

They're more than welcome to. Hell, I'll even share my chatlogs since I started.

But seriously, it's really not hard to get away with crime here if you put a modicum of effort into it. If you're getting caught in the act of committing the crime then that's a problem with you, not law enforcement being "OP". Me and my friend stole two whole cars from the same location in front of an open business with cops literally circling us and nobody was none the wiser. You shouldn't feel entitled to a fair chance of getting away when you're caught red-handed committing a crime.

And you can't invoke balance when Civilians have been completely oppressed by illegal players. Where's the balance there? It's so bad civilians aren't roleplaying outdoors anymore.

they're gang members. what do you expect them to do? their whole roleplay revolves around oppressing civilians and other gangs. sounds like a personal issue.

🤷‍♂️ I call it as I see it, 70% of the server roleplay like it's half life and pretend it's western europe.
