imo there's too many chars around that jsut don't make sense from a realistic pov, given the fact this should be a high standards roleplay server it's kinda embarrassing seeing barely no difference between the characters that are portrayed here. from the lesbian depressed PF license having pink sportscar driving stripper/escort/bartender/store clerk with 3 houses, 6 cars, cat ears and their "hourglass shaped body" up to the 15 y/o mass murdering savage ass all too active fearless gang char who's down to blockwipe his opps the first day he hops off the porch. many cop chars feel too robotic, making most police interactions quite unpleasant even tho i really enjoy a nice encounter with cops, i'm even down to take huge L's icly but when it comes to the point where i  have 7 units on my ass just cause my window tint turns out to be darker than allowed it just kills it for me tbh.

this server is divided between "mallrats" and "hoodrats", there's not much in between and both sides seem to try their best to not interact with the other.
"hoodrats" associate most non-gang chars with what we know as "mallrats" same as "mallrats" associate urban chars with "hoodrats" almost instantly.
me as someone who uses dlcmods (simply cause the vanilla clothing is fucking garbage cause it makes you look like u bought ur clothes at the dollar store back in 2008) notices how i pretty much get denied at any place outside the ghetto cause they instantly associate me with people who chain rob civilians with piss poor rp. i get that seeing a character with a checkered shirt and clipping torso can be annoying as well but people seriously have the audacity to use their ooc right to take this shit ic'ly and roast my character cause of how he looks on their screen when they know that my character just looks like this cause of mods. in a server where i have to rp someone being a 6'3" muscular badass or some girl to be the baddest hourglass shaped female just cause they put it into their /attributes  i dont see the issue to just let someone be who decides to use clothing mods, instead i'm being clowned. it's hard to respond to that shit icly too cause i just have to accept people roasting me icly for the things they see cause i'm using mods after all. i also dont see how that shit helps them to immerse themselves into a situation even more when straight up taking some goofy outfit icly. its sort of the same as if i'd be walking around roleplaying everyone has the same tattoos, same height and same the same weight instead of roleplaying how their character is described in /attributes. it's just retarded.

it's too much porn influence on here, if you check the ads most of the things u see is that yet another strip club hires dancers, an escort offers her/his services or how someone advertises their new porn with the grey haired thicc goddess as the main act. of course in a city that resembles L.A things like this realistically should exist, but it's just too much. the erp culture got out of control, this server feels more like a cops and robbers or a sex simulator than anything else. my facebrowser newsfeed is flooded with menyoo pics of half naked overly thick characters who only post about sexual content.

also correct me if i'm wrong but from what i'm seeing it just seems like staff aims their focus mainly on law enforcement in terms of updates or w/e, giving the "regular player" little to no attention. of course law enforcement rp does need it's improvements as well but what about the rest of the players? just look at the piece of shit clothing we have. you're totally fucked if you're portraying a male hood character cause it already fails by trying to give your character a time appropriate outfit hence why people use dlc mods in the first place. same goes for female characters, yes you can make decent outfits and it's not as bad as with the male chars but besides those erp "mallrat" dresses there barely is anything u see a female irl would wear, especially in a city that resembles los angeles. male afro american characters have a very limited option on hairstyles and the tattoos just look like shit. i was shocked when i took out my mods just to check how i look on other peoples screen, i instantly made my characters more vanilla friendly.

of course this server isn't all bad and theres lots of cool people on here who rp good as well and i enjoy playing here, it's just that those things i've listed above sort of kill my motivation sometimes cause it just gets tiring, especially cause it's fixable issues. but if u address these issues like i did rn people just get triggered cause they find themselves in what i've written above. but instead of thinking about what i said, people rather play the hopeless victim which also is another problem.

now i feel weird cause of how much i wrote, but as someone who's barely saying anything i just had to let it out. in times like these i also have to address that i'm not trying to offend anyone, i'm just pointing out what i think goes wrong on this server and just cause it's my oppinion it doesn't mean that those problems are as deep as i feel like they are.

I think this is because, yes it is a game. And yes everyone is influenced either by movies, music or something they seen in their life and even if they go lengths to justify some of their cliche concepts, they just wanna play them. Then we have people who are the type to roleplay a cook in a big spaceship game or people who just quietly roll a bland character and walk largely unnoticed among us, cause that's what they desire to roleplay. But people will always portray what they cannot or don't wanna do in real life. That's what it is for.

Girl everybody should LOL but you see them get ajailed or banned more than you do a cop. My friend legit reported 1 for DM and was told by an admin 'everyone makes mistakes.' Okay but if I did that my word doesn't matter.

Did he really say that? "Everyone makes mistakes?" Please tell me you're joking. So you're telling me the admin agreed that it was DM, but forgiven on the basis of "everyone makes mistakes"? Can you name the admin please?

There are already many threads about adding new clothes, hairstyles and tattoos. No luck so far. Instead we have 11 different types of Hawaiian Snow clothes.

Lil shade, but sure. I've given over custom hairs (that are currently on the server) and offered to provide mods to cater to different character demographics but it's not as simple as "oh add this mod." A lot of stuff suggested is simply too big or too unoptimized to add - whether it be the file size itself or LODs missing. The texture loss that happens is largely influenced by the mods currently on the server - if Oggy went and added all the suggestions, we'd have texture issues galore.

Other issues are most of the gang orientated mods are paid content like Patreon or whatever.  Another key issue? People keep posting Franklin mods. Unless you can find someone to convert them for the MP model, they're not going to work.

Tattoos/Shoes are still bugged on Rage the last I heard - so that's something out of the modders control.

No one will ever be 100% pleased. While there is a new clothing patch coming, you'll always find someone upset that something isn't added. I'd love to see a whole bunch of content added that'll please everyone and cater for every walk of life in-game, it's just never going to be possible because people are damn hard to please.

@Oggy busts his ass off with these clothing patches and people constantly shit on him. Don't think the guy slept properly the last time with the amount he had to do. If you know how time-consuming it is to get these things stable and ready for a server with this many players, you'll come to appreciate the efforts that are being put in by people - for free.

@BINGBONGGHOST puts in the work finding good stuff and understands different demographics. He should 100% be involved IMO.

Current state of the server? People need to realize that there are human beings putting in the work here and to be a little more appreciative and less critical all the time.

The state of the server is a mixed bag. Having played a bit after a long break, I think the depth of RP has definitely turned a page. Putting aside chain robbing gangbangers and noobs, We're seeing Illegal RP pushed to the next level. The way criminal factions have begun to intertwine, collaborate and politic on things not just gun and drug related is amazing. I think outside of a small lack of updates and some of the abuse the civilians on the server get, I think there are more options now then ever before to create unique characters. I started playing when it really was just mining, being a mechanic or working at a club as the only viable career paths in LS. Now you've got everything from dock/construction work to fortune 500 companies and modeling gigs to build a career around.

All of that is great and if sustained and supported, GTAW has the ability to only go up. The problem is it's all going to get thrown away because the staff team is in the worst shape I've ever seen it in. Now, I'll preface by saying I totally understand that this is a volunteer position and that staff are players too, they don't live to serve the community 24/7. There are a lot of minor things that because of this I let slide or don't hold against them. But at a certain point, they are staff and they are supposed to administrate. It is their job (Even if they volunteered) to make sure the server operates smoothly. That's just not what's happening now and while I don't know the internal workings of staff, as a player who's effected by them. They aren't fucking working.

People shouldn't have to wait an hour+ for ig reports to be handled. People shouldn't see the /admins list drop from 8 on duty to 3 the minute they make a report. Some peoples reports from a situation (Like a revive) shouldn't be accepted and handled remotely just to have the main situations report ignored for another 25+ minutes. More complex IG reports shouldn't be just automatically directed to the forums when forum reports take on average 2 weeks to 2 months. I as a player, should not feel like I need to be buddies with someone in staff if I want shit handled in a timely manner. Again I don't know the internal workings of staff but as a player it really feels like either A. The staff teams being lazy and ignoring the responsibilities THEY volunteered for. Or B. The internal workings of staff are such a clusterfuck that 95% of situations are such a hassle to deal with they aren't even worth taking. Because simply reports like TP's, revives, etc. They get handled pretty quick, but anything else? Anything that might be slightly complex (Which is kinda the basis for most reported situations) gets avoided like they are contaminated with the plague, both in game and on the forums.

Some things just aren't user friendly. Like telling you that you need an Admin to void a car crash when you sometimes wait 10 minutes or more for an admin to show up.

Or having to grind $$$ to play a rich character. Why? It's a Rp server. Why would I have to grind Trucking like we're playing some MMO RPG?

Property prices are also crazy. Mirror Park houses going for millions of dollars when it's the most burglary-prone neighborhood in the city and most people start with 200,000 $.

That's unfortunately not the solution. You can have all of the best intentions if the system is flawed. The first step towards fixing it (or bettering it) is acknowledging it.

Otherwise, it's like saying that the way you get people to stop breaking rules is by reporting them, except that's been happening for 5 years now and 45 thousand posts later, nothing changed.

This is what does it for me. This was his completed outfit that he walked out of the store with. I understand some visual mods but come on, how can I take anyone seriously when they constantly dress up for a chess tournament.

I believe the state of the server will continue to decline if people can break others immersion for their own benefit. Now this is a broad statement because it includes anything from playing an unrealistic character that belongs in a movie, or for example only wearing clothes that you can see. Both of these things are detrimental to others roleplay.
