The elephant in the room no one wants to talk about is that this romanticized ideal of going into a bar, having a drink with a guy, and then through conversation buying illegal items or joining some gang or organization is completely bullshit.

First of all, if you even ATTEMPT to discuss illegal activity, despite your character being brazenly a criminal themselves, you will almost always get told to fuck off by people UNLESS you join their discord and give them CK permissions. It's only then you're treated as one of the various "locals" or "associates" and you essentially have to follow what is most likely a group of OOC Discord Play-To-Winners around, as usually one of them is a supplier.

I mean I tried pawning a ton of phones a cop sold me to a random electronic store and ended up being recruited into a drug dealing ring with links to some Italian hoods. Later on I made light connections with a very diverse range of criminals from both shady businesses and organized crime factions after some casual rp encounters. Now I'm basically associated with a official faction that I never originally planned on associating with or interacting with at all.

Keep in mind I'm basically a somewhat new player who is playing a character that is too old to join a st gang(mid twenties), a Hispanic woman and someone raised in another country who doesn't know the local slang. I didn't even have a real defined long-term goal on this character originally, as this one is my first "serious" character. I've just been vibing this entire time and making shit up as I go.

However It did take me some time to get established ingame obviously, I moved from place to place earlier on until I found a stable area to call home. I can't speak for everyone, but this romanticized ideal has worked for me multiple times ingame. I simply went out and explored the world as much as I could, while meeting a variety of different characters.

It would be nice to have realistic robberies.

Among other things.

Yeah the culture of masked men cruising around town in a car needs to stop. They are basically asking to get shot doing it like that. Not to mention, any cop spotting something like that on the road will immediately call for a swat van. If people wanna do that, GTAO is that way.

Armed gang robberies are up (especially around Vespucci) and business interiors don't appear that lively. A lot of people will go to businesses, but particularly bars and nightclubs, and absently stand around without any roleplay. A lot of the commerce on this server really lacks any sort of social/cultural immersion. Other than that, RP has been getting stale for some players who I know.

I see cops and robbers, and the fact there's really 0 ways to legally earn money as a citizen goes to show.

Legal citizens can earn $12,000, bare minimum, with three hours of R.P, per day... On top of that, you can fish, farm, truck, drive a taxi, or collect garbage.

MOST drug dealers, whom work full-time in the streets, are raking in a couple hundred to a couple thousands on drug deals, a day, unless they are an up-top member with all the connections and secure contacts.

This does not include legal business owners that can earn around $52,000 a day from both entrance fees and government checks, let alone script item sales.

This does not include government jobs, such as the Port Authority, that submit weekly paycheques of around $40,000 for labouring three 1-3 hour shifts.

Legal RPers earn TONS of wealth on this server, in comparison to the average criminal RPer. I am not complaining about this, though, as it's reality. Average criminal's earning pennies with minimal labour, until they form a strong enough network to allow profits to flow, effectively.

"First of all, if you even ATTEMPT to discuss illegal activity, despite your character being brazenly a criminal themselves, you will almost always get told to fuck off by people UNLESS you join their discord and give them CK permissions. "

You shouldn't simply walk up to a person and mention criminal activity, as that attracts heat to them. You have to develop a strong enough bond, with them, to earn their trust. It has nothing to do with an OOC connection. It's based on an I.C. perspective. In fact, one character that approached my character low-key acts like a cop... he's been speaking to him for days, but he still seems suspicious with the way he acts. It takes time to develop relationships with people when your character's life on the line if Law enforcement were to find out.

"There's also no crimes to be committed except drugs and selling guns, so it's obvious the only thing crims will be interested in is murder."

There are a wide variety of crimes to commit, on this server. Read the penal code. Be creative with it.

Overall? I don't seem to be having these issues, and I've been on here for 2.5 years, RPing a wide variety of different characters on countless spectrums of the "Criminal/Civilian/Legal" chart.

Bro, but that's literally how it works 🙂 Which is great imo. Your corner stand will never get rich on what they do, simply because apart from shotcallers nobody ever got rich that way in a gang. Why do you think they recruit minors? Cause they are expendable. No matter what people think, this is as realistic as it gets. Next part is again true, nobody ever got into crime, just by walking up to someone. People either start something on their own or group up with friends. Criminal rp is kinda on higher difficulty  this way, cause you cannot simply roll a drug baron off the bat. You have to fight your way and hope nobody got an CK app with your name on it. In these terms, criminal roleplay works perfectly.

Criminals live fast and dangerous. If they are lucky they even get something extra to spend, but every dollar they dish out for cars, girls, drugs, guns. Is cash earned by blood.

Legal character kinda have it easier this way. All you need to do for rolling a wealthy character is to be patient, grind paycheck by roleplaying a shopkeeper, rename them and buy a business. Which is kinda meh, but if you look at it from character creation perspective, it makes sense.

imo there's too many chars around that jsut don't make sense from a realistic pov, given the fact this should be a high standards roleplay server it's kinda embarrassing seeing barely no difference between the characters that are portrayed here. from the lesbian depressed PF license having pink sportscar driving stripper/escort/bartender/store clerk with 3 houses, 6 cars, cat ears and their "hourglass shaped body" up to the 15 y/o mass murdering savage ass all too active fearless gang char who's down to blockwipe his opps the first day he hops off the porch. many cop chars feel too robotic, making most police interactions quite unpleasant even tho i really enjoy a nice encounter with cops, i'm even down to take huge L's icly but when it comes to the point where i  have 7 units on my ass just cause my window tint turns out to be darker than allowed it just kills it for me tbh.

this server is divided between "mallrats" and "hoodrats", there's not much in between and both sides seem to try their best to not interact with the other.
"hoodrats" associate most non-gang chars with what we know as "mallrats" same as "mallrats" associate urban chars with "hoodrats" almost instantly.
me as someone who uses dlcmods (simply cause the vanilla clothing is fucking garbage cause it makes you look like u bought ur clothes at the dollar store back in 2008) notices how i pretty much get denied at any place outside the ghetto cause they instantly associate me with people who chain rob civilians with piss poor rp. i get that seeing a character with a checkered shirt and clipping torso can be annoying as well but people seriously have the audacity to use their ooc right to take this shit ic'ly and roast my character cause of how he looks on their screen when they know that my character just looks like this cause of mods. in a server where i have to rp someone being a 6'3" muscular badass or some girl to be the baddest hourglass shaped female just cause they put it into their /attributes  i dont see the issue to just let someone be who decides to use clothing mods, instead i'm being clowned. it's hard to respond to that shit icly too cause i just have to accept people roasting me icly for the things they see cause i'm using mods after all. i also dont see how that shit helps them to immerse themselves into a situation even more when straight up taking some goofy outfit icly. its sort of the same as if i'd be walking around roleplaying everyone has the same tattoos, same height and same the same weight instead of roleplaying how their character is described in /attributes. it's just retarded.

it's too much porn influence on here, if you check the ads most of the things u see is that yet another strip club hires dancers, an escort offers her/his services or how someone advertises their new porn with the grey haired thicc goddess as the main act. of course in a city that resembles L.A things like this realistically should exist, but it's just too much. the erp culture got out of control, this server feels more like a cops and robbers or a sex simulator than anything else. my facebrowser newsfeed is flooded with menyoo pics of half naked overly thick characters who only post about sexual content.

also correct me if i'm wrong but from what i'm seeing it just seems like staff aims their focus mainly on law enforcement in terms of updates or w/e, giving the "regular player" little to no attention. of course law enforcement rp does need it's improvements as well but what about the rest of the players? just look at the piece of shit clothing we have. you're totally fucked if you're portraying a male hood character cause it already fails by trying to give your character a time appropriate outfit hence why people use dlc mods in the first place. same goes for female characters, yes you can make decent outfits and it's not as bad as with the male chars but besides those erp "mallrat" dresses there barely is anything u see a female irl would wear, especially in a city that resembles los angeles. male afro american characters have a very limited option on hairstyles and the tattoos just look like shit. i was shocked when i took out my mods just to check how i look on other peoples screen, i instantly made my characters more vanilla friendly.

of course this server isn't all bad and theres lots of cool people on here who rp good as well and i enjoy playing here, it's just that those things i've listed above sort of kill my motivation sometimes cause it just gets tiring, especially cause it's fixable issues. but if u address these issues like i did rn people just get triggered cause they find themselves in what i've written above. but instead of thinking about what i said, people rather play the hopeless victim which also is another problem.

now i feel weird cause of how much i wrote, but as someone who's barely saying anything i just had to let it out. in times like these i also have to address that i'm not trying to offend anyone, i'm just pointing out what i think goes wrong on this server and just cause it's my oppinion it doesn't mean that those problems are as deep as i feel like they are.

You lot cry a hell of a lot more then you actually try to suggest fixes and help the server.

There are literally tens of thousands of topics, replies and messages on both the forums and Discord in regards to these issues, rants, problems and possible solutions. Take a look in the suggestions forum only, there are almost 70,000 posts. There are lots of issues that are extremely well-known, greatly damage our environment, have extreme exposure, have been a thing for literal years, and have seen a lot of raging and involvement from the community, in lots and lots of topics, and literally nothing was done about them. Take the absurd amount of robberies, or looting. Everyone's complaining, writing about them, raging, suggesting possible fixes, alternatives, regulation, and have been doing it for years - what changed? And that's just an example, one of way too many.

I mean, looting will always be there unless it's regulated OOCly. If there are fewer guns, it'll drive up scarcity and price and people will go to loot to get a gun or sell it. Even if guns were, hypothetically speaking, available at an OOC blackmarket in infinite quantities for dirt cheap prices, looting would still happen because it's possible, because it's more than nothing.

I'll just say as someone who has been in serious roleplays across a lot of different games (Arma, Gmod etc.) this is one of the most OOC based roleplay servers I have ever been in, despite this server's weird obsession with witchhunting people for "bad roleplay" and "dealing out of character" almost the entirety of the server is based on OOC cliques / connections and deals.

I find it comical that a server that tries to work so hard on its roleplay basis obtaining guns and drugs through an OOC process, which usually results in an OOC clique going around and picking on people attempting to join their faction because they applied for a role OOCly. Sure, there's the exception here and there, I have bought some drugs on some characters in the past, but the majority response to you attempting to roleplay is a prompt Ay cuh bro blud run yo pockets hur dur.

Driving around I don't see roleplay. I see cops and robbers, and the fact there's really 0 ways to legally earn money as a citizen goes to show. There's also no crimes to be committed except drugs and selling guns, so it's obvious the only thing crims will be interested in is murder.

but thats just my perspective as a noob of 6 or 7 months now.

That is unfortunately true, and few people actually acknowledge it. There really isn't that much role-play going on on a heavy-role-play server. Take a look around - you'll see a bunch of nightclubs, bars, strip clubs. If you go into either, you'll see people just idling around. Sure, there are some other unique businesses opening up - if you go in, they're usually empty. Drive down the street, pretty much no one. Every now and then you'll stumble upon people aimlessly driving around for hours. That's for the civilian role-play. There's a police scene or a traffic stop on every corner - even last night as I was driving around (yeah), I noticed four traffic stops, one felony stop and some larger police scene, all within the same 0.4 mile radius or something.

Besides, there's only factions and illegal groups. What's sad to see is that the majority of businesses don't have regular characters behind, but they're simply fronts for nobody knows what Mafia. I'd absolutely love to see a more realistic scenery but at the time, we're simply an enhanced cops and robbers server. Sure, with more realism, more types of cops, more types of robbers and tighter rules, but that's the general idea. Yes, there are exceptions, but they're almost always rare and clique-based, and it doesn't change the general truth.
