The melee weapons cost WAY too much, it's incredibly unrealistic and bad.

I've seen people say that they should be regulated because of DM.

It's bullshit, unequivocally.

Take a machete and run up to 9/10 people and they'll blast you before you get within ten feet.

The amount of people using switchblades from an antiquated Factory system which has more rust on it than Mars is simply ludicrous.

In fact, switchblades are more tightly regulated than fixed combat blades because of their concealable nature.

The fact only the mafia seem to have golf clubs here is also proof of this

type of shit.

In California, you can't even carry a large switchblade. You can open carry a KA-BAR though, AFAIK.

You rarely see big knives here because the melee suppliers, who I don't think should exist (Put regular knives in the factory or something, at least they'd get circulation), limit them to their groups.

I can get a carbine rifle easier than I can get a combat knife.

I'm not sure if any attachments even exist outside the currently scripted in ones (I know there's vanilla ones, but not sure whether or not they're ingame.

IIRC Weapon Suppliers get these drops aswell. And yeah, I do agree with you on the ammunation part, they should give us a bit more variety on weapons aswell as weapon attachments.

They exist in the script I think. The changelog.

My friend reported seeing a guy with a drum mag attached to his Compact Rifle after he whipped it out in a club accidentally.

Weapon suppliers get them, but they've not been at all effective in distributing it.

I think it fits the role of specialist more and they would be able to distribute them more effectively than the few suppliers who presumably have their hands much more full.

Then the fault is on the suppliers, not on the IFM team because they can't micromanage every aspect of  the weapon's trade, but I hear you and I totally agree with you. I just want a damn drum mag for my weapons.

The third point you bring up, I actually asked the same thing from a few people and whether or not we're eligible to recieve these drops, and the answer I got was a cold, hard and simple "No." Does it fit specialists? Maybe, depends on the backstory. But I would support IFM implementing another level, such as 'Weapon Specialist II', which just comes with the skills and ingame commands to remove serials and fix weapons, then 'Weapon Specialist II' so they can get attachments should the roleplay be there. This would obviously be applied for using the IFM requests and reports board, but that's just a suggestion.

Are suppliers handed out based on who knows who and who can grease what palms? Probably.

However if your faction RP cannot survive without supplier status you need to reevaluate your faction

So its not a problem that suppliers are handed out based on who's friends with who and greased palms because Illegal factions (who's rp is tied illegal goods given out by suppliers) should anyways? Ok buddy.

I understand the sentiment but with regards to the OP's faction, the Los Santos Triads, I could imagine how it is frustrating to be simultaneously an established (official) faction and not be connected to the Golden Triangle, the second largest heroin center in the world which Chinese OCG plays a big part in.

There is also the likelihood that members of IFM may not be well-versed in Asian crime. It's famously secretive too in contrast to the rat-infested Italian-American mafias.

the point is that weapon dealing is the most cookie cutter RP there is in the illegal scene and the sooner people take the finger out and realize there is a vast world out there of things you can do, the better we'll all be.

also of course ifm nepotism is a problem, but it bleeds into much more than just supplier

I know there's a disclaimer but we all know majority of these types of topics will create some sort of outrage or some disagreement. I understand a lot of you have concerns and I'm not the person to answer them but I will lock this for now before it does get a little out of hand. This is concerning IFM so I'll tag @Shanks to give him a chance to look over the topic before it blows up.
