[GUIDE] Car Theft

Recommended Posts

I know there's a couple great guides out there, but here's somthing I'd made for a few of my friends. Not ment to be some in-depth guide, just a quick bit of starter info to help with RP 😄 hope you enjoy.

BREAKING IN
Breaking in can be done in a number of ways with different tools, below is a list to help you be creative with your RP and switch it up as you see fit.

SlimJim: The slimjim is a long, thin piece of metal with a odd hook at the end that is shoved down the window seal of as car door in an attempt to catch the lock's internal mechanisim, and pull it up.

Best used for older/mid tier vehicles

A method that can scratch the window and window seal, folding it over

Wedge Tools:

Using crowbars and wedge tools to gain entry to a vehicle is done by prying open the top of the door enough to comfortably maneuver a long hook tool like a bent coat hanger in through the door, and  hooking at the handle. A long list of tools can be used as wedge tools, below are some examples.

  • Crowbars
  • Hammers
  • Screwdrivers
  • Wedges

Best used on older/mid tier vehicles
If using anything other than a wedge tool, this method will scratch and chip paint

STARTING THE CAR

This is done in two main ways that can vary based on the car you're breaking into with tools like relay kits reserved for high end/modern cars.(will update later with relay kit info)

Forcing the ignition: The method of forcing something into the ignition and either turning it over, or breaking the lock cylinder out and accessing the ignition switch.

This can be done in varying methods, including drilling a screw into the ignition, and using a slider hammer (dent puller) to rip the ignition out.

Best used on old/low tier vehicles
With either a hammer or drill, this method is loud and while it bypasses the steering wheel lock, it leaves a gaping hole in the ignition.

Hotwiring: The method of jumping connections between the power and all the wires supplying control modules.

Depending on the location of the ignition you would either access the ignition by removing the screws on the steering column, or unbolting the kick panel below it.
From there you would either use small strips of wire running between the control module, or you would strip the wires and splice them together.

Depending on how sophisticated you are with this method, the interior of the car may end up looking like a neat bit of wires, or a mess, and the lack of a steering column/panels would be obvious.

WIP, will add more info on relay kits later (used for high tier vehicles)
