Job Description:

The Los Santos News Networks Support Staff take on various roles within the organization assisting in both our Operations and Human Resources Divisions. Depending on what division you wish to join your role will vary in your day to day assignments, Support Staff within our Support Services Division will have a more administrative support focus whereas the Support Staff assigned to our Operations Division will be assisting out in the field. The job is a rewarding one in which in either division you will be supporting the network in achieving its goals whilst developing and being rewarded greatly for your hard efforts. As a member of Support Staff, you will be closely working alongside your team in supporting day-to-day operational needs. Support staff covers a variety of roles from photographers to pilots and so there are plenty of opportunities to find your true calling within the Support Services Division.

• Previous Operational experience with a previous employer.
• Previous Administrative experience with a previous employer.

Responsible Division: Editorial
Salary: Competitive
Position Type: Intern

Job Description:

The Los Santos News Networks Editorial Intern would work on projects with fellow journalists within the Editorial Division of the Network. The Editorial Intern will write and respond to around the clock news, publishing response updates and forwarding them to the Editor and Management Team of the Division for review. Editorial Interns alike all employees within the Editorial Division will be involved in the profit-sharing scheme in place at LSNN where your hard work is rewarded. When a story breaks, interns will contribute to the main story and other coverage, helping make sure that the latest developments are accurately brought forward and published in accordance with publishing regulations set in place by the Editorial Division. Editorial interns will partake in team-based projects and support in the development of magazines and other large projects. The Editorial Intern will be contentiously willing to learn as they develop throughout their employment within the LSNN group. We as an employer will aim to educate and offer further employment opportunities through our in house monthly performance reviews in which we create a development plan tailored to the Intern to support them in turning their internship into a prosperous career with the LSNN group.

Editorial Interns will be proactively contributing towards new projects whilst offering ideas and their own creative input along the way. As an Intern within the Division all publications will be subject to review and shall be subject to grading which will be linked into KPI's and brought up at your monthly performance review. As an Editorial Intern you will be taught how to publish creative and engaging articles, check your writing for discrepancies and integrate yourself into the Editorial Division as a key member of the team.

• At least 1-2 years of storytelling experience.
• Open-minded, detail-orientated and a strong willingness to learn and develop.
• Experience writing breaking news in real-time as a story unfolds
• Ability to structure stories for specific target audiences.

Responsible Division: Broadcasting Division

Position Type: Intern

Job Description:

The Los Santos News Networks Broadcasting Intern position is an entry-level position assisting any area of production if it be broadcasting on-air or off-channel. Interns will assist from pre-production through to post-production. Interns shall be learning on the job as we aim to integrate them into the LSNN family. As an intern you will learn the full ins and outs of the Broadcasting Division from supporting with equipment to partaking live on air on occasions alongside our fully trained news anchors and radio presenters. You will learn how to operate pieces of equipment, understand how to set up equipment and organize and manage events and timelines. Our Broadcasting Division covers recorded TV shows, live news, live shows and radio. As an intern you will be supporting in the creation of content for our multiple platforms. An intern showing creative potential is asked to help develop segments. In conjunction with producers and anchors, an intern will brainstorm new ideas, write and execute the material on occasions. Broadcasting Interns are often very hands-on once they're fully trained with equipment and are expected to help handle and control cameras, lighting and audio equipment.

As a Broadcasting Intern you will be given a great opportunity in which you can grow within the Division and are encouraged to promote your creative ideas and help execute them. Broadcasting interns will be expected to work in multiple projects and cross platforms within the network. At the end of the Internship you will be given the opportunity to advance within the organization and by that time will be fully aware of the day-to-day operations of the Broadcasting Division.

 

THE CANDIDATE:

• A degree in Media Studies or similar study.
• Open-minded, detail-orientated and a strong willingness to learn and develop.
• Experience in creating first-class content.
• Familiarity with research techniques and sources for the verification of the accuracy of the material.
• Ability to use IT proficiently, including a range of software packages.
• Effective planning and organizing skills. Ability to concentrate on several areas of work at one time, prioritizing, delivering consistently to deadlines and reacting positively to changes and conflicting priorities.
• Ability to prioritize a conflicting workload efficiently and to maintain standards of accuracy and attention to detail when working to deadlines or changing priorities.
• Able to use firm judgment and understanding of when to seek guidance from experts and escalate issues where appropriate.
• Flexibility-ability to adapt during breaking news, ability to adapt to program or anchor style.
• Demonstrable level of creativity - able to bring a fresh new approach and bring out creative ideas in others.
• Oversee and where necessary, direct the work of other resources and manage positive working relationships with staff, contributors and talent.
• The ability to problem solve and suggest effective solutions.
• Great communication skills and ability to remain calm when placed under pressure.
