Addressing crime in character

I just fail to see where being killed for moving is of anyone's enjoyment. I've personally been PK'ed during a shootout for trying to save my character's life, despite this meaning the robbers got nothing out of me. It was a proper "Fuck you" where the only emotes I saw throughout the entire interaction were after the kill (when you're supposed to RP things first) and were: "x smokes y" and "z blows y's brains out". And I am the one to blame there because my character, who deals with that and worse scenarios on a daily basis, who has been aimed at and even shot at countless times... didn't kneel and pray for her life, but instead seek a more realistic outcome?

By the way, the robbers knew my character was a police officer. Why would they care? It was only the Del perro Pier, one of the most packed spots in the city (realistically but not in-game).

Why is the city empty? Because of the players who /me aims a gun at x's head and... A) Get in the car foo / B) Run yo pockets followed by /me checks x's waistline.

March of 2020, a third of the active players, 400 at peak hours on Fridays, the city was so much more alive, businesses included, that rarely happened and the general love for RP made many of the pettiest crimes enjoyable for both the criminals and the victims.

Bravo. Agreed.

They should return to making certain regions be "more populated", like before. I.E. Not an ethical idea to do a robbery at a pier that would more than likely have hundreds of tourists, 24/7. Then again... I'd also claim that the civilian community could combat this by, maybe, rolling in groups? Maybe, if these places weren't so "empty", then the crimes would less likely occur, correct?

Robberies would decrease if more people were outside, rather than engaging in interior RP 99% of the time.

Not everyone wants to roleplay getting hospitalized any time they go outside either. I've seen someone fully cooperate with a mugging only to get beaten by several hammers and then shot in the leg "to keep him from calling the cops".

Every thread I go too with illegal community as a main topic..me and you are always here hahahaha...

anyway.

How do you, a legal rper(?) suggest people handle this? There is nothing you can do besides REPORT IT. These threads won't make it stop.

Asking "why is the city so empty" is essentially GTAW tradition now, and nobody wants to deal with it.

I refuse to believe the city is all dead because all 800 players are scared of getting rob, there are other reasons but nobody is going to talk about those until this main complaint about IFC is taken care of, from everything I've seen from most of these threads all legal rpers want is crime to be some ancient thing that never happens but that will never happen, there is nothing you can do besides report the people who are giving poor roleplay and pray admins deal with them accordingly, and if the staff doesn't deal with them properly, report the staff member.

I've been saying this for so long, all I hear about is people not coming outside to get robbed, but the main way you can combat these robberies other then report them is GO OUTSIDE IN GROUPS, have events again, stop hiding in interiors, if you walk off from a group into a shady alley, well fucking duh you're gonna get robbed, but if people just came outside and started hanging in groups, doing shit for fun together in a realistic manner, if you were to get robbed, it would make the robber look dumb and clearly be straight evidence of poor portrayal because they robbed a group of 5-6.

The method you are using to run/avoid robberies, which is hiding in interiors is the opposite of what you should be doing, because now the people that do have the balls to go outside are just gonna get targetted easier, i understand why people ran inside of interiors but you cannot do it forever and theres only two ways to combat robberies, you either do what you can IC and avoid getting robbed, walk in a pack, etc. Or report it to Staff.

I hardly spend time in K-Town. However, how often do robberies occur when the region is packed with citizens, outside? Imagine a man robbing a person in front of 20 other witnesses. Seems highly improbable.

Had a male character that lived in K-Town (my first character on GTA:W, this was before my awakening lmfao so granted the character was very mallratty)  before any of my illegal ones and I was never robbed in that area.

As someone else pointed out, reporting it doesn't fix it. At best it just cycles them out for someone just as bad, if not worse than the other, and we can never be sure the ban evasion tracking is foolproof. It also paints you as a target for reporting them, getting you on the bad side of any friends they have, and anyone that has an interest in dealing with potential problems.

Even interiors aren't safe. It's almost daily that a nightclub or casino has to close early because an underage gangbanger felt that getting turned away was enough justification to start attacking people with a hammer.

If an interior location with dozens of people an a literal armed guard can't stop the disruption, how do you expect random unarmed people to do any better out in the open?

You should go there more often. It's definitely an educational experience, and how they operate REALLY opened my eyes to the crimegrinder problem we're facing everywhere else.

K-Town is what the rest of the criminal community should hold as the standard for criminal roleplay. If people start crimegrinding in their turf, crimegrinder bodies tend to start turning up in compactors. From what I've witnessed, they have an exceptionally low tolerance for crimegrinding, and make good on policing their own and anyone that operates in their area.

Don't believe me? Give it a spin. Go in, crimegrind away in K-Town, and see how long you last.

I don't know about the roleplay itself, but lowkey OOC'ly insulting people in PMs after a whole 12 seconds of RP might not be the kind of standards we should look up to ^^'''
