how and why are there so many rich people

I have two main characters ATM, one is just getting by and has the bare essential vehicle and clothes, doesn't go to fancy restaurants or clubs. The other has an apartment and one classic sports car that I RPed as a "treat" from their wages.

How you use your money is down to what you want from your character development. If you want a playboy/girl who has a good business and 5 suped up cars then it shouldn't be too hard to get that equity, whereas you should have enough money to get by and just RP not having that much if another character is working a clerk job.

Does amuse me occasionally seeing a sports car occupant grinding the hell out of the fishing jobs though.

***they'd much rather use it to fulfill their Cop Fantasy - Literally logging in to do nothing but patrol around the city.
***they'd much rather use it to fulfill their Gangbanger Fantasy - making a new "block wipe" video a week and standing around AFK asking every person who walks/drive's by "AYO wHaT YoU bAnG?"

You get the idea.... Why do people keep singling out the car community?

STOP GATE-KEEPING

I'm not singling out the car community, I'm singling those out who do nothing but just drive around really fast with no roleplay, drive into a telephone pole and go /b oops laggin lol and continue to disrupt players.

Some people do it right, some just log on to play Forza on GTAW. Same way there's people who can do LEO roleplay well and some can't, same also goes with illegal roleplay.

But what I said must've struck a nerve lol, I wonder which group you belong to.

I guess so, Just gets old when people who have 0 clue come in and make themselves look silly by talking about a things that don't exist outside of their assumptive perception so thank you for correcting yourself.

So when you made the statement:
"they'd much rather use it to fulfill their NFS Banham Canyon edition fantasies and predatory OOC lusts." Who exactly were you referring to then if not the car community?

I'm glad you corrected your error, because that goes for anything.

What car faction are you referring to that drives around all day really fast crashing into poles going "/b opps"?  I could make the same statement about any faction/player. Super generalized.

Just because you only "see" people driving around doesn't mean that is all that character does.

And as far as your final statement, I am a car enthusiast in-game (drive a alamo) and have never been apart of a faction official or unofficial.

Self-insert mall rodent types probably make up a large percentage of the most active, highest donating players who utilise donator-features like business advertising and furnishing. They mostly go about like it's Second Life too and they barely shoot anyone with their PF as an aggressor, more often defense by proxy.

You don't cut off your highest paying, least trouble-causing customer by shattering their illusion and forcing them to pay virtual taxes.

Besides, who gives a shit? The game's all about wish fulfilment.

This IRS crap that's coming, half the crap you need to do with property management, that fake FaceBrowser that has pay-for premium features that even the real Facebook doesn't have, it serves a fundamental purpose - blur the line between this game and real life so people get more invested and frustrated and play it more. More players, more time spent, more money.

In the same sense, mobile games are designed not to reward but to frustrate because it keeps a player coming back lol.

I don't give a shit about how people on this game choose to escape their reality. None of my fuckin business, who the hell am I, it'd be hypocritical to judge them.

Let em have the 330k Love Boat with the entire escort company hired out after being a garbage man for a week.

No skin off my ass and I suggest you heed the same advice.

Amen padre.

money is hard to come by on this server unless you're willing to join a faction, grind script jobs or throw away your portrayal by working in a nightclub when it makes no sense for your character to do so

there's a lot of exaggeration in this thread about how easy money is to come by, when it just isn't. the issues here lie with rpqm, not with the economy and even if you somehow managed to make money harder to come by (which i dont understand why you'd want to do that) you'd still end up with this problem because these people will just grind 400 hours for their fast cars rather than 50 because their mindset hasn't actually changed, all you've done is just made it more tedious for them (and everyone else)

I think it's fine. It helps that it's not 90% of the server, but in a city of millions it shouldn't be far fetched or unrealistic to see a couple dozen high-end sports cars and people wearing Cuban chains while they go buy some groceries. A hundred rich characters going around doing all of that is pretty average by today's standards.
We get maybe 800-1000 characters each day in-game, but again: the county's populated by millions. What you see as a 'majority' in our playerbase is, in fact, a minority IC. Don't let your OOC knowledge of what the playerbase is like cloud your IC views of the city, otherwise it's all one big Hot Wheels race track with cat-eared lesbian DJs and people settling social media disputes with gunfights.

Your wealth on this server is largely based on how much you play, especially if you are a part of a faction. There are a lot of people on World who spend an average of 6-8 hours a day or more on the server and do so consistently for weeks or months at a time, sometimes even years.

For example if you’re a cop or firefighter who makes $45,000 a week (maximum 20/20 hours played for the week) and you play at least 20 hours a week for an entire year, that is $2,160,000 that is now pretty much permanently yours. You have no real expenses, so it just continues to build up the longer you play. You can always transfer those funds, or simply change your name when you make a new character. On the whole, it’s just a result of playing a bunch, it happens rather naturally without any more effort than simply playing being involved.
